It was 35 years ago when Jimi Hendrix took the stage to end what would become the most famous Rock event in history. Who knew it would be around 9 a.m. on Monday morning when Woodstock finally ended? It was supposed to conclude Sunday night. What we do know is that Jimi came to headline the show and sure enough did so, even if it was at least 12 hours later than anticipated. To commemorate that day and the spirit of what it has come to represent, Classic Records and Experience Hendrix have released the 35th anniversaryJimi Hendrix at Woodstock deluxe LP Boxed Set, which includes the entire Hendrix performance on three LPs, transferred from the original analog master tapes. Accompanying features include a 36-page booklet with rare photos, expanded essays and interviews with Eddie Kramer, Mitch Mitchell, Billy Cox and others present that day in the Summer of Love. Also included is a bonus colored vinyl 7" single with never-before-released versions of "Isabelle" and "Message to the Universe" recorded by Eddie Kramer at the Hit Factory the week after Woodstock with the same band. This definitive package will undoubtedly become a collectors item in years to come and is a must have for all serious Hendrix fans.
