Editorial Review:
A Jimmy Buffett concert on a tropical island. Just walk down the beach for a once-in-a-lifetime intimate performance from Margaritaville's favorite son. That's what a few thousand fans got to experience at Jimmy's Caribbean shows on March 23 and 24, 2007. Now everyone else can, too. A double CD and an 82 minute DVD were recorded live at the Dune Preserve, Rendezvous Bay in Anguilla, in Bankie Banx's backyard and the site of famous Moonsplash Festivals. The CD's include 30 songs, all of your favorites, plus some special in-concert rarities like Domino College, Waiting In Vain, When Salome Plays the Drum, King of Somewhere Hot, Treat Her Like A Lady, and Distantly In Love. The DVD was recorded in High Definition and is in Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound.
Live in Anguilla Reviews:
Takes me away
2009-11-29 - Watching the DVD really takes me away! Great for bad weather days and cabin fever!
Delayed Buying This One
2009-07-12 - A confirmed Parrothead, I'll admit I delayed buying this one out of ignorance: I didn't realize there was a DVD included until I was in the supermarket the other day and it was playing on a big flat-screen television. I immediately ordered it from Amazon and watched the entire DVD start to finish the evening after it arrived in my mailbox.
I'm a sailor. I've bareboat chartered in the Caribbean. There's salt water in my veins. I'm from Florida. I'd give up a couple years of my life to be in Jimmy's skin for a couple months. I've read all his books. This compilation is a "must have" if you like well engineered CD's in a fantastic setting. Forget the old songs...they're all classics, just like Mr. Buffett. Enjoy them, the fantastic shots of water and boats, and the obvious joy of the people who had the great fortune of being able to attend this "festival"...."concert" is too stuffy a term for this. Jimmy in shorts, t-shirt, flip flops (which he gives away to two women in the crowd at the end of the event, one who can be clearly seen mouthing, "OH, MY GOD!!!", is at his best.
My favorite part is the clever transition from a song being sung on the beach to the stage performance. Get the DVD and you'll understand what I'm talking about.
Fins Up, My Friends
Buffett concert
2009-05-21 - very good album if you are a Jimmy Buffett fan. Every one of his favorites is in there. The special surprise is the DVD of the concert that was included with the 2 CDs
always in a holiday state of mind when listening to JB!
2009-04-04 - good combo of oldies and goodies and newer sounds. Cannot go wrong with this CD.
Fantastik!
2009-02-20 - This is my second copy of JB's live in Anguilla. Somehow the DVD from the first set got damanged and my husband was freaking out. I ordered another new set and it was here before I knew it and in perfect condition! We are boaters and we listen to these CD's all summer on the water and we watch the concert about every other month the rest of the year. W never get tired of it. I think it is definitely his best!
