Editorial Review:
Your eyes do not deceive you--that is indeed the actor Joe Pesci on the cover of this album of "songs," which includes one celebrity "rap." In the annals of celebrity musical undertakings, Pesci's disc does not approach the sublimely horrible work of, say, William Shatner. And the disc is intended to be humorous, as Pesci revisits the character Vincent LaGuardia Gambini from the Oscar-winning hit My Cousin Vinny. Fans of that film and of Pesci's wise-guy character acting will no doubt look beyond the disc's major faults and just enjoy it as a good laugh. It does bear noting, however, that the guy has no business even pretending to sing (let alone rap); he's more in love with words like "bitch" and "fuck" than a hyperactive delinquent 13-year-old, and the lounge- and swing-inspired music is uninspired hack work. There is a cleaned-up version of the disc, but it's hard to imagine there being much left after the edits. --Mike McGonigal

Vincent Laguardia Gambini Sings Just for You Reviews:
Joe Pesci Sings! Too funny! 5 Star Review
2008-05-17 - What's this gangster doing these days!? This cd is funny and entertaining! Most libraries don't carry it cause it has some funny adult language.

RAPTURE ALL THE WAY! 5 Star Review
2007-11-08 - Joe's rendition of Blondie's infamous first number one rap song in history called "Rapture" does complete justice to this moody dance hit. He calls his version on this record "Wise Guy". Although the music of the song is a remake, it completely captures the magical, space-corridor sound complete with all bells and whistles. It gets everybody up and on the floor every time!! Worth the entire album~!

you could do better 3 Star Review
2006-11-03 - a fun CD but you'd do much much better with Falling in Love Again (Joey Defrancesco/joe Doggs pesci). Gambini is a 1 or 2 times listen. Love Again will spin over & over Again on yor player....and in the car (loud!) with the top down.

It ain't sinatra, but it ain't telly savalas either.... 3 Star Review
2006-10-22 - I am not sure what to make of Joe Pesci's album...He sings ok,but then so do I(while in the shower)and nobody has asked me to record an album...A lot of the stuff on the album was intended to be funny,if swear words, dirty mouth and gutter talk is your idea of humor...but even with all of the profanity thrown in the songs are hardly amusing...So is this a vanity item for Pesci,or does he expect to be taken seriously, either as a vocalist,or as the gutter-mouth generation's Lou Monte? In any event the album is a novelty, like the two albums that Telly Savalas put out when he was riding high as teevee's"Kojak",or the drivel the star trek gang has foisted upon the world over the years...Sure,Pesci does manage to sound better than Savalas,Shatner,John Wyane(whose patriotic album is excruciating to listen to),Robert Mitchum(who actually thought his 1950s vocal effort was first class),and all of the other non-singer actor-celebrities that have put out similiar fare, but then MOST people with even a modest singing voice sound better than these people do...

Little Joe sure can sing! 3 Star Review
2005-02-10 - This is actually Joe Pesci's second album. His hard to find first album came out in 1968 and consisted mostly of covers of Beatles and Bee Gees songs (I actually have a copy of it). Thirty years later, he released this second album. It is ostensibly performed as the character he played in My Cousin Vinny, but some of the songs don't seem to be performed by Vinny. For example, in the song "Wise Guy", he refers to himself as "Pesci". Anyway, most of the songs here are played for laughs, but some of them are done more or less seriously. The songs that are played for laughs are fairly amusing, although most of laughs come from hearing Joe sing vulgarities. As for the serious songs, they are fairly decent, but Joe is no Tony Bennett. But I will admit that this album is better than most albums recorded by actors.
