A group of aliens have come to Earth to learn about its population, customs, etc. To avoid detection, they have taken on human form which gives them human emotions, physical needs etc. WITHOUT the understanding of what they mean or the inhibitions normally present in humans. Their leader takes the position of a college professor, their military expert as his sister, their intelligence expert, supposedly oldest of group takes form of his teenage son. The uninhibited reactions turn everyday events into unusual situations.

2009-12-23 - This show is very funny. John Lithgow is stellar in his role. I can watch these episodes over and over. A great buy!

2009-11-27 - The complete set is such fun! I fell back in love with 3rd rock when I saw some reruns, and I think that it is hysterical. I decided to purchase the complete set - because there are favorites from every season. The two Dick cliff hanger, Pickles the dog, The Big Giant Head, the Super Bowl plot - come on, where else do you see such craziness?
Funniest series ever created
2009-11-18 - I value viewing material that will give me a belly laugh because I believe it's healthy to laugh hard on a regular basis. Of all the so called comedies I've ever viewed, Third Rock from the Sun is by far the most consistent in tickling my funny bone, often hard enough to give me an abdominal work out! Amazingly, it still makes me laugh even after the second or third viewing. In my opinion, this is the funniest series ever created.
What a "gold deal" on the set!!!
2009-10-28 - I already owned seasons 1-3 and had planned to buy the rest as they came on GB deals-well this deal came up and it was as cheap for me to purchase the entire set for a few dollars more than to buy seasons 4-6 separately. What is REALLY nice is these are individually wrapped and then wrapped again as a set-so guess what a few lucky folks will be getting for Christmas??? As for the series, IMHO which is shared by millions, IT IS one of the BEST adult comedy shows ever!!!! The actors are so well casted which is a rarity in itself. The writing is quick, intelligent, and witty. I cannot say how many times I laughed out laugh and eagerly awaited the next show to air the following week. Are all the shows a solid 5? No, but at least 3/4's are and the rest are still enjoyable. Although the Twilight Zone (the complete expensive series) is #1 in my heart for sci-fi, w/ the Outer Limits a close second, then Night Gallery, etc., this IS my favorite all time comedy TV show. Sometimes it is so relaxing to watch a show that doesn't require you to think, but simply laugh and be entertained.
