Editorial Review:
THE NATIONAL PARKS is the story of an idea as uniquely American as the Declaration of Independence: that the most special places in the nation should be preserved for everyone. The series traces the birth of the national park idea in the mid-1800s and follows its evolution for nearly 150 years, chronicling the addition of new parks through the stories of the people who helped create them.
This film is presented in "widescreen" format. Enchanced for 16x9 televisions.

Ken Burns: National Parks - America's Best Idea Reviews:
National Parks DVD
2009-12-28 - Was not able to watrch this entire series, but have visited many of the parks and always enjoy Ken Burns work. Service was excellent and product an important video library.
The DVD doesn't play on every DVD Player
2009-12-17 - I exchanged the DVD once, but it still doesn't play on my LG DVD player, but it does play on another player. The content itself is excellent.
Great National Park History
2009-12-14 - This is a great DVD series. Its a chance to know more about not just our national parks, but their history as well.
Priced right.
2009-12-13 - I was amazed, and pleased with the pricing on this item. Made it an affordable Christmas gift. Shipping was quick, well packaged.
Worth every dime!
2009-12-12 - This is one of the best historical records I have ever seen! It is more than parks - it is a beautiful walk through American history, with archival photos and written records. As a patron of the parks and working on a PhD in environmental education, I can assure anyone that this is a magnificent production. Recommended for anyone who loves history, the outdoors, and our parks.
