2009-12-09 - If you're a fan of Hunter S. Thompson, if you're a fan of journalism, writing, reading or if you're just a fan of very cool and fascinating things -- check out this book! This new, literary edition, has an amazing biography from writer Ben Corbett that will astonish and amaze you. Not to mention all the great aspects of the book as the previous edition -- the cool photos, clips and intro by Johnny Depp. Pick up a copy -- I did! -- and I know you won't regret it.

2009-08-29 - Great pictures in this work. It could have used some more explanation. Fascinating opening from Johnny Depp.
Poorly packaged 
2009-02-22 - I received the book in an oversized box with one air pillow for protection. With no packing material to prevent the book from sliding in the box side to side the top binding edge was damaged. Very disappointing.
The content of the book was only maginal at best.
great book, but poor quality 
2008-10-20 - I gave this two stars not because it's a bad book, but because the quality of it was awful-- I ordered this as a gift for my brother, and when it arrived the cover had clear plastic cracks/bubbles in it, so I requested an exchange and carefully described the defects in the cover. Well, a few days later Amazon sent me another copy, only the cover on this one looked 10 times worse than the first one. When I contacted customer service about the problem, I was told that they couldn't guarentee the quality of the book at this time and couldn't promise to send me another copy with a perfect cover. So, if you are considering ordering this book, you might want to try getting it somewhere else.
Excellent, balanced review of his life, work and legacy
2008-09-01 - Great read. Illuminates both his genius and his jackassery. The many voices providing retrospectives create a vivid 360-degree view of what it was like to work and live with HST - the good, bad and the ugly. Bravo.
