2004-01-18 - Wow! I knew I was driving very fast, but it was late, I was one of a few cars on the road and I was in a place...let me tell you...that Joss...that voice...awesome! I was brought back to reality by red lights flashing in my rear view mirror. The cop let me off with a warning...turned out he likes Joss, too. Almost a speeding ticket, but man, oh, so worth it. If you don't buy this album, that cop WILL give YOU a ticket. Buy it, don't download it, don't steal it. Keep the music coming, Joss. We love you.
Joss Stone - Just a stone's throw away from "divadom" !
2003-10-26 - I was one of the few Torontonians lucky enough to catch this amazing new artist opening for Simply Red, on October 18th 2003 at Massey Hall. As an artist unknown to almost all of the concert-goers, she not only got everyone in the place moving - she stole the show! She performed 8 songs from her album (soon to be released in Canada, but available on import!) "The Soul Sessions". Songs included on this album: "The Chokin' Kind", "Super Duper Love(Are You Diggin' On Me)Pt.1", and "I've Fallen In Love With You" are instant classics at on the first listen. She also does an amazing cover of The White Stripes song, "Fell In Love With A Boy". Joss' voice is that of an old soul, with obvious infulences and inspirations from the timeless stars of Motown past. If you like artists such as Angie Stone, Sade, FLOetry, Maxwell, Thicke, etc. then you will LOVE this album!
Pick up this album and be the one to tell your friends (and everyone else) that 'you knew about Joss Stone before she became a household name.'
