Defenders of the Faith Reviews:
Priest on a roll! 4 Star Review
2009-11-30 - Priest releasing another popular metal album, though this one is a bit weaker than screaming for vengence. Still, some classic here. Does have some filler songs like "heavy duty" and some others that were popular back then but don't stand up very well today, like "love bites" and "some heads are gonna roll." 3.5 stars for this one.

Poor remaster 4 Star Review
2009-09-27 - One of Priest's best albums, but a horrid sounding remaster. The remastering was done at such a high level that there is very audible clipping distortion all over the place. Very, very sad.

Come on, Let's Tell the World... 5 Star Review
2009-09-20 - After making albums like "Point of Entry", the Priest made "Screaming for Vengeance" which showed a little way to the "new Priest" which was actually the old Priest. "Defenders of the Faith" has been made with same courage and skill as the 70's classics like "Stained Class" and "Sin After Sin". Of course, the sounds may be a little but modern but anyway. When you listen to this album through many times you probably may find it one of the best Priest albums. No wonder that it sometimes can be found in the all-time best top 100 lists. The great songs songs as "Jawbreaker", "Some Heads Are Gonna Roll", and of course "Freewheel Burning" are just the best-known tracks in this album and this album has many other classic songs. Actually, all the songs are great, I even love the songs "Night Comes Down" and "Eat Me Alive" which are often said to be the worst tracks in this album. Listen to this album, listen to it heavy sounds...You know that the songs such as "Love Bites" and "The Sentinel" are brilliant...as the other songs too.
Stars: Freewheel Burning, Jawbreaker, The Sentinel

Some eyes are gonna roll 1 Star Review
2009-05-11 - This may be the second worst Priest album after Ram it Down. Rocka Rolla can be excused because the band hadn't found its sound yet, Turbo and Point of Entry are excuseable because the band (and the fans) looked at both albums as experients. There's no such redemption here, this album is every bit as bad as Ram it Down. Granted, then first two tracks (Freewheel Burning and Jawbreaker) are awesome songs, the rest are all completely forgettable. Even look at the stupid song titles (Love Bites, Heavy Duty, Turn On Your Light). Love Bites is a mind-numbingly awful track with stupid lyrics about Vampires (Vampires are awesome but not here). Heavy Duty and the title track both stink, in fact both are the two worst priest songs ever. Some Heads are Gonna Roll has a good solo but that's it. Eat Me Alive has a good intro, and then goes downhill from there.

And another thing, the lyrics are TERRIBLE. Yeah Painkiller had stupid lyrics too but it could get away with it because the music was so damned awesome. There's no such redemption for that too, the lyrucs are stupid. With dumb lyrics like "We're gonna rock you till your metal hunger's fed", "Let's all join forces- rule with an iron hand- and prove to all the world- Metal rules the land" as well as "With animal lust they'll devour your life- and slice your word to bits like a knife". This is especially shocking since Halford wrote the lyrics. Wasn't Halford supposed to be the "Metal God" or something? As for the production is terrible too- the guitars sound like keyboards, the drums sound like Holland is banging on a plastic cup, and the bass is too loud. THere are noticeable volume drops on the album too.

How this trash got the reputation of "Best Priest Album" is beyond me. Cut your teeth on "Killing Machine" or "Sad Wings of Destiny" or even "Painkiller" instead, if you must.

Heaviest of all metal 5 Star Review
2009-02-14 - I have always owned a copy of this album since it was released in 1984. I think it is one of the best heavy metal albums of all time. If your a teenager who is tired of todays metal- then give this one a listen. It don't get any better than this. I was disapointed with the Priests follow up "Turbo". They went in a total different direction with that one.You can get this one new for around $11.
