Painkiller Reviews:
The Definition of Metal 5 Star Review
2009-09-28 - I had to rethink what I knew about metal when I heard this CD, because it was easily as metal as anything Metallica, or Iron Maiden had done up to that point, and still remains as one of the greatest if not the greatest metal offering from any band. If you say Master of Puppets, I say hell ya, If you say 666, or Appetite, or Reign in Blood, I say amen, but Painkiller is just as good, maybe better than any of them.

Judas Priest was already one the better and more successful metal bands before this album, but they were starting to get pushed aside, and forgotten due to younger, faster, and more brutal bands. You almost could have dismissed them as an eighties rock or glam band such as fellow European act Scorpians. Then came Painkiller. One of the fastest, most technical, and ferocious albums to date, yet still containing all the vintage Priest qualities, this was and is an album that old school, and new school metal fans can embrace.

This CD shreds. From the start of Painkiller, through Hell Patrol, Leather Rebel, Metal Meltdown, and Night Crawler, the screaming guitars of Glenn Tipton and K. K. Downing dominate you along with the banshee scream of Rob Halford, as well as the punishing rhythm section. Metal at its finest.

If you like metal, like I do, this is a must have, easily one of the best albums in all metal.

The Last Good Album from Priest? 4 Star Review
2009-09-21 - After "Turbo" and "Ram It Down" Priest finally made a good album since "Defenders of the Faith" - it was this - "Painkiller". This is much different from other great albums and classic albums. It is much nearer speed metal than the earlier works. The first track "Painkiller" is very fast and catchy, a little bit too long though. Other great tracks are "All Guns Blazing", "Leather Rebel", "Night Crawler" and "A Touch of Evil". The only bad things are the short instrumental "Battle Hymn" and the next "One Shot at Glory" which is quite boring and too long. Still, I think this is an album for every Priest fan. It's not their best but it's not their worst.
Stars: A Touch of Evil, Leather Rebel, Night Crawler

Bone-crushing, head-blowing, chest-cracking METAL! 5 Star Review
2009-07-14 - This is simply the finest album Judas Priest ever made. If you're sitting there wanting to hear the best that Metal has had to offer in the past 30 years then buy this album immediately. The title track will not only stomp on your toes, but rip your head off, spit down your neck, and throw your lifeless body 300 yards across the parking lot. Unbelievable. In the dictionary, where it has the entry for "Heavy metal", there is a picture of Painkiller. Quite simply a masterpiece.

Nothing beats this for heavy...not Slayer, not Metallica, not numerous Death, Thrash, Black, Whatever metal. This is it...pure and simple. Sit through Painkiller on your ipod at full volume for its entirety and then tell me it's not the heaviest thing you've ever heard. Intricate melodies, screaming precision vocals, dueling guitars, thundering drums...it's all here. Rob Halford is simply magnificent on this album. Screaming, soaring, venegeful, malicious, evil vocals. Higher than the sky. Buy it. If you don't shake your hair, bang your head, or move your butt.....you're dead.

THIS IS...THE, PAINKILLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5 Star Review
2009-07-13 - Painkiller Is The Ultimate Extreme Quintessential (Thrash) Metal Album, It Is Indestructible and Will Annihilate Your Ears With Total Ear Candy!!!!!!!!!!!

I Hate How This Album Is Never Given What It Deserves Due To It Being Overshadowed By It's Predecessors: "British Steel" and "Screaming For Vengeance"..."Painkiller" Destroys Them, No Offense To The Other Priest Albums, Because Priest Always Rocks In My Book...But, Painkiller Is The Ultimate Judas Priest Album!!!

Buy It Immediately!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And It Holds Up To Today's Standards Very Well...

BEST BY FAR 5 Star Review
2009-02-16 - By far, this is judas priest's best album. Every song is fast paced, headbanging, thrash metal that i can't get enough of. The best song has to be Metal Meltdown but #2 would have to be Hell patroll. This definitely blows all the other abums away. You will not be disapointed with this kickass album. ROCK ON
