Priest in the East Reviews:
JP in their finest moment
2003-11-24 - Got the album when I was in 9th grade back in 1979.It blew me away.It is still one of my favorites to this day. This was back when hard rock really meant something. If you listen to JP and have not heard this one then it should be at the top of your list period ! Truly, Halfords vocal range is staggering along with KK Downing and Glen Tipton on guitar providing enough power to light a major city for a month ! Get this cd now and listen to "Sinner" and "Victim of Changes" ! You'll see why all modern bands cannot reproduce or touch this level of ferocity in song composition, let alone the old school sonic attack in this long gone form of music
ONE OF THE BEST LIVE ALBUNS EVER
2001-08-14 - This is from a time when live albuns meant something, not just a bunch of songs put togehter, overdubbed in the studios to sell some more. PRIEST is terrific here, with Les Binks on drums. This ediction, with the extra tracks, is simply perfect.
The Best Heavy Metal "Live" Album
2000-06-20 - Period. With 4 extra tracks. I would of gone haywire for live HB4L in high school. This is JP at their best. "Tyrant". "Running Wild" - up tempo and brutal. This goes on the "desert island" must list.
The Beast That Is Priest
2000-01-09 - Are you kidding me? This is one of the best examples of a hard rock/heavy metal band performing live ever recorded (its only rivals may be UFO's Strangers In the Night or Saxon's Eagle Has Landed albums which I would also highly recommend). Halford's vocal range is simply awesome; the double lead guitars of K.K. and Tipton are incredible; and Les Binks (yes, Les Binks) on drums is flawless. This album kicks ass and is definitely worth the extra money for the 4 bonus tracks which were not included on the Unleashed In The East version released in the US (particularly since 2 of those extra tracks are gems like Rock Forever and Starbreaker). This disc definitely delivers the goods.
"Unleashed in the East", continued, and loving it!!
1999-09-12 - Any true Priest fan will appriceate the additional four tracks on this CD. For those of you who know the original "album" by heart, as I do, what a treat for this CD not to end after "Tyrant"!! Although you could buy the original 'Unleashed...' for less money, DON'T. This one's the one you really want!! Being one of the best live rock albums ever, I'm pleased to tell you that the additional songs are as good as the original cuts and provide an appropriate end to a classic album. As the first "new" track on this CD says, Rock Forever! And you will with this one!!
