Judas Priest - Live Vengeance '82 Reviews:
Time Warp to 1982
2009-12-11 - I first saw this video on MTV when I was in high school, just after I'd seen the band on their next tour, Defenders of the Faith. Typically, you'd have seen the band from a distance in an arena setting, and this was a band that knew how to work a huge venue. Everything, from their gestures to their goofy-looking leather and chain outfits, was meant to be experienced in that arena setting. Seeing it up close in cheesy 1982 video makes it look a bit sillier than it was. But still, a great band, a very good sounding recording. Rob Halford's total commitment to every song is fantastic. Experiencing Judas Priest in a packed arena full of screaming, head-banging fans was some of the most fun I've ever had, and it was great to have this video bring it all back.
halford nails it!!
2009-11-13 - This is a classic heavy metal show. Halford nails every note, two-guitar team of KK and Glen are on target, with the bass and drums holding down the beat. I am not a fan of heavy metal but love good music and this is it!!! This is what a performance should be. These guys were (and still are) amazing. I wish more acts could bring this kind of amazing energy to the stage.
Won't get Grandpa's heart rate up
2009-08-02 - Somewhat boring. The audience generally seems asleep (perhaps due to sound remixing). The camerawork/editing is definitely lackluster. For a good comparison, watch the 1982 and the 2004 Youtube clips of Breaking The Law. The 1982 version may sound better, but the 2004 version is far more energetic. And their hair (or lack thereof) looks far better.
Fantastic
2009-07-10 - Old school metal the way JP does it.. good sound and good show and obviously killer songs.... a must have..
LONG LIVE THE PRIEST!!!!
2009-06-16 - I have not seen this concert since '87 or '88. Used to have it on VHS. This is Priest at their best!!! If you don't have this....GET IT!!!!
