Editorial Review: Episode Description: Disc 1: OMEN (2006) Disc 2 and 3: THE OMEN COLLECTOR'S EDITION Disc 4: OMEN II: DAMIEN Disc 5: OMEN III: THE FINAL CONFLICT Disc 6: OMEN IV: THE AWAKENING The Complete Omen Collection (The Omen - 1976/ The Omen - 2006/ Damien: The Omen II/ The Omen III: The Final Conflict/ The Omen IV: The Awakening) Reviews: "THE BEST DEAL EVER"! 2009-11-04 - THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST DEALS EVER. I GOT THESE DVD'S FOR ABOUT HALF OF WHAT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN AT THE STORES. THANK'S TO AMAZON.COM AND PLEASE REST ASSURED I WILL MAKE MORE PURCHASE THROUGH THEM FROM NOW ON. THANK YOU.
"An A Plus Boxset" 2009-08-17 - This boxset features every single "Omen" filmed ever produced. Rather than paying the price for each individual DVD the consumer would be wise to purchase this set for the amazingly low price that dealers are asking for. You get all five "Omen" films beautifully restored from the studio's master prints. The dics themselves come in their own individual cases that store the DVD's safely. These DVD's are in turned stored in a cardboard case with access to the DVD's on the side. The films are as follows: "The Omen", the 1976 film that started the franchise starring Lee Remick and Gregory Peck; "The Omen 2" from 1978 starring William Holden and the fabulous Lee Grant; "The Omen 3" from 1981 which stars Sam Neill in his first starring movie as the adult Damien; "The Omen IV" which was made for TV in 1991 that deals with a young girl who is the antichrist; the last film in the series is the well received and excellently produced remake of "The Omen-2006". The only film that contains a slew of bonuses is the original with neat info and annecdotes from the filmakers. No horror buff's library is complete without this wonderful boxset.
Just buy the original; sequels & remake are awful. 2009-06-02 - Except for the 1976 orignal version of the film, there is nothing worth watching in this 5 DVD collection. Looking at the price, one might think it is a bargain; it is not! No words come close to describing how bad the remake is; the acting (Except for Mia Farrow & Pete Postlethwaite) was nauseating. Damien 3 was a very cheaply done film, which has a Monty Python feel to it. The Omen IV was plain stupid and boring. The Omen II was somewhat watchable with decent acting, but it lacks horror, suspense or anything that makes it interesting . My advice, you will gain nothing from adding this collection to your video library, if you already have the original 1976 version of "The Omen".
CLASSIC! 2009-02-21 - OMEN: THE ORIGINAL:A COUPLE LOSES THEIR BABY AT THE HOSPITAL.A PRIEST WAS THERE AND SAID THAT A BABY WAS JUST BORN.HE DIDN'T HAVE MUCH TO SAY ABOUT THE PARENTS.HE GAVE THE BABY TO THE FATHER.THE FATHER DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE BABY TO HIS WIFE-HE ACTED LIKE IT WAS REALY THEIRS.WHEN DAMIEN HAD HIS 5TH BIRTHDAY PARTY-THEIR NANNY JUMPED FROM A BUILDING AND HUNG HERSELF.LATER-THE MOTHER WAS WATERING HER HANGING BASKETS.DAMIEN RAN HIS BIKE INTO HER ON PURPOSE,AND SHE FELL OVER THE BALCONY.THIS IS AN EERIE MOVIE,BUT REALLY INTERESTING AND EXCITING.
OMEN 2: DAMIEN WAS VISITING HIS FAMILY FROM MILITARY SCHOOL.HIS AUNT MARION IS A COMPLETE "B".LATER-SHE DIES OF A HEART ATTACK.ONE DAY AT MILITARY SCHOOL-TEDDY WAS TALKING BAD ABOUT HIS FATHER.DAMIEN CAME OUT OF THE OFFICE,AND JUST LOOKED AT TEDDY-AND TEDDY WAS BEING THROWN ALL OVER THE PLACE.DAMIEN DIDN'T UNDERSTAND ABOUT ALL THIS POWER HE HAD.WHEN HE WAS AT MILITARY SCHOOL-A PRINCIPAL TOLD HIM TO READ A CERRTAIN PASSAGE IN THE BIBLE.THEN DAMIEN KNEW AND UNDERSTOOD.THIS IS AN EERIE MOVIE,BUT INTERESTING AND EXCITING.
OMEN 3: DAMIEN IS A MAN NOW.HE OWNS THE THORN COMPANY,PLUS HE WORKS WITH THE PRESIDENT OF THE U.S.NOW HE WANTS TO BE THE AMBASSADOR OF GREAT BRITAIN,AND BE THE PRESIDENT OF THE YOUTH CENTER.THE AMBASSADOR OF GREAT BRITAIN KILLS HIMSELF.THERE ARE 7 DAGGERS THAT DAMIEN NEEDS TO FIND BECAUSE ANY OF THE DAGGERS COULD KILL HIM,AND DESTROY HIM FOREVER.NOW HE'S SEARCHING FOR THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE THEM,AND THEY ARE SEARCHING FOR HIM AS WELL.DAMIEN ALSO FEELS A HOLY BABY BEING BORN NAMED NAZARENE.HE ORDERS HIS FOLLOWERS TO SEARCH AND KILL ALL BABIES BORN BETWEEN A CERTAIN TIME BECAUSE THAT'S WHEN NAZARENE WAS BORN.THIS IS DIFFERENT FROM THE FIRST 2 MOVIES.THIS ISN'T EERIE.IT KEEPS YOUR CURIOUSITY UP.IT HAS A COUPLE OF SURPRISES CLOSE TO THE ENDING.
OMEN 4: A COUPLE ADOPTS A BABY GIRL FROM THE ORPHANGE.DELIAH IS WHAT THEY NAMED HER.THEY TOOK DELIAH TO GET BAPTISED.AS SOON AS THE HOLY WATER TOUCHED HER-SHE STARTED TO SCREAM AND CARRY ON.ONE DAY,A BOYS' PARENTS WENT TO VISIT DELIAHS PARENTS BECAUSE OF A FIGHT THEY GOT INTO.DELIAH MADE A TRUCK BACK UP AND THE FATHER OF THE BOY HAD HIS HEAD CUT OFF.THEY HIRED A NANNY.DELIAH DIDN'T LIKE HER.THEIR PET ROTTWEILER PUSHED THE NANNY OUT OF THE WINDOW,AND SHE DIED.THIS MOVIE ISN'T EERIE.IT'S INTERESTING,AND IT KEEPS YOUR CURIOUSITY UP.
OMEN THE NEW VERSION: IT'S ALMOST THE SAME AS THE ORIGINAL.THEY ADDED A FEW MORE INCIDENTS OF WHAT BABY DAMIEN DID.IT'S OKAY-BUT THE ORIGINAL IS BETTER.THERE'S REALLY NOTHING TO SAY ABOUT THIS MOVIE.ALL THAT'S NEEDED IS 1-4.
Normally I wouldn't review something before I viewed it... 2008-10-24 - ...because the condition of the DVD's is a big part of the review. But none of the reviewers have complained about the DVD's, so I guess they're ok. It's basically just the original Omen that matters; all the rest are merely along for the ride. The Omen was the only movie I've ever seen that actually scared me to where I checked all the windows and doors before going to bed - and I saw it on network TV, chopped up with tons of advertisements. As most of the other reviewers have noted, it was the atmosphere that, more than the actual events of the movie, created the sense of terror. And the graveyard sequence was absolutely the most terrifying scene of any movie I've ever watched. This movie, perhaps more than any other movie I can think of, demonstrates how little murder and mayhem is necessary to create a first rate horror film. It's not so much about what actually happens as it is about what the atmosphere makes you think might happen. And even when the very worst you can imagine doesn't happen, it's not a let down because it's still scary.
