Though half the cast has changed from the first George of the Jungle, the silliness and self-referential jokes remain--for example, in an unusual display of professional honesty, Christopher Showerman explains to the audience that he's the new George because the producers were too cheap to re-hire Brendan Fraser. While a mean lion (voiced by Michael Clarke Duncan, The Green Mile) connives to take over running the jungle world, George's wife Ursula (Julie Benz) is imperiled when her mother and her former fiancé (Thomas Haden Church, returning from the first movie) scheme to bring her back to civilization through kidnapping and hypnosis. Though George of the Jungle 2 aims its combination of goofy humor and computer-generated animals at kids, the camera spends a lot of time ogling Showerman's buffed body. --Bret Fetzer

2007-01-11 - Chistopher Showerman is worthy of watching this film,not merely handsome he is more for gorgius,beatiful adjectives.And he is funny,not a bad choice considering he is in the place that was of Brendan Fraser, a very versatil actor ,very talent one.I said to me when film started in Brazilian tv; hey this is not Brendan and a second later this was the first joke of this film .Not very special to see in theaters is as many movies a very good choice to see at home with all family.

2006-09-09 - The replacement George is nothing like the B. Frazier in the first movie. What's with the goofy smile?! I liked the first movie, so did my kids. You can tell in this one that the Ursula and George actors are really trying to be the Ursula and Georgia from the first movie - but they lay it on too thick...syrupy sweet thick. Ugh! I only watched it because I happen to like Thomas Haden Church, who was better looking than George! Tom Church, please do more serious films!

2005-07-12 - This movie was a whole lot worse than the first one(I actually like the first one). You can tell the animals are computer animated. The actor that plays George is terrible! The only thing good about it is the plot which actually sticks to the story line of the first one.
