Half wonderful, half incomprehensible
2009-02-19 - Many of Kanye's long time fans are said to be a bit put-off by his recent abandonment of hip-hop for something that's more like old school R&B and rock and roll. But I was very taken by both Love Lockdown and Heartless when I first heard them on the radio. When I got the two LP set I was amazed that all of the songs on the first LP, including the two previously mentioned are truly excellent. I liked them so much that I didn't listen to the second LP for over a week. But when I finally dropped the needle in the groove, was disappointed that not even one track on the second LP was of any interest to me. Go figure...

2009-01-24 - if U like electronic sound and vocoder tunes, this record is absolutely genious! Kanye West presents an album, which is very different to other hip hop albums! Great style! Well done!

A Kanye CD for those who hate Kanye
2008-12-30 - Wow. This CD is unlike any of his others. Like the other guy, I was a little skeptical about the vocorder thing, but it really makes his music beautiful. Just the arrangement of instruments is enough to make this easily by far the best I have heard from him. If you are a lover of Kanye's hip-hop, then this might not be for you as there is no rap on this CD. It is very much along the same lines as Gnarls Barkley. Just keep an open mind and listen to the words...it's poetry.
