Editorial Review:
After spending only one semester way at college, Oliver Anderson (John Hensley) is back in his hometown, living with his wealthy but conservative parents. He is reunited with his best friends, Patrick and Sorn, for one last summer of carefree, adolescent fun.
Fueled by his desire to avoid responsibility at all costs, the trio has a simple set of juvenile priorities: get drunk, chase women and cause trouble.
As the weeks go by, this reckless routine quickly becomes increasingly self-destructive. A succession of dysfunctional relationships coupled with substance abuse and an identity crisis lead the group to realize it may be time to grow up
Set in Kentucky, Peoples is a late coming of age story that blends witty, low brow humor with gritty, authentic drama.
Peoples Reviews:
Well acted and well photographed
2009-08-25 - I saw the effort that went into making this first movie. Serious work and professionalism show in the the end product: a very well acted (most of the actors are pursuing excellent careers) and expertly photographed film. So much more interesting that a lot of the junk being peddled by major studios!
Great coming of age movie
2009-06-03 - This movie has an indie flair, but does not feel like it was produced by an amateur. I really enjoyed it. The plot is nothing to write home about, but the acting and crafting of the scenes (each scene is short and sweet; nothing is dragged out) is suberb. I highly recommend this movie!
