All I Ever Wanted Reviews:
I wanted a little more, but this will do for now... 4 Star Review
2009-12-10 - Kelly Clarkson got a lot of flack for her third album `My December'. I actually haven't listened to it in its entirety yet, but what I heard was no where near as bad as so many claimed. Yes, it was a letdown when you consider how great `Breakaway' was, but it is often hard for an artist to top their best work when their best work is that good. `All I Ever Wanted' is a nice compliment to `Breakaway', but in all honesty, it still doesn't come all the way up to the plate.

The singles are all really well done. `My Life Would Suck Without You', `I Do Not Hook Up' and `Already Gone' are instantly recognizable, catchy and memorable. Personally, `Already Gone' is the best of the bunch, and honestly, the best thing on this album. Her vocals are crisp and honest and the song is just so moving and beautifully done.

Like the albums first single, there are a lot of catchy, fun rock/pop tracks here. The best of the bunch is `Don't Let Me Stop You'. Kelly really shines when she lets her hair down and just goes off. This is one of those tracks. `If I Can't Have You' feels like something The Veronicas might come up with, and it's gorgeous from start to finish. I want Kelly to keep this vibe strong for her next album.

My favorite ballad here is the closing track `If No One Will Listen'. It is just phenomenal, her voice so crystalline.

For me, the only songs I don't like are `Impossible' and `Ready'. They are just boring and uninspiring and below Kelly. That said, the remainder of the album has a feeling of familiarity that takes away from it. I was waiting for some POP, something that really grabbed me, and sadly there really isn't. There are some promising ventures that fail to really execute themselves perfectly.

`Cry' is very pretty, but it sounds like something too similar to other ballads she's done before. I felt a country vibe here, and that was nice. I would love to hear her do a duet with Carrie Underwood. They are easily the two best things to come out of A.I., and so it would be nice to see them embrace one another on a track. `All I Ever Wanted' reminds me of Finger Eleven's `Paralyzer', just less successful. It's a sound she could play with, but she has to work it out a little better. `Long Shot' is fun, and it sounds like something that is soon going to appear on the soundtrack to some uplifting teen movie (can't you just see it happening?). `Save You' is too safe for me. It is good, but it just doesn't do anything special.

`Whyyawannabringmedown' tries to do something special, but it just comes up a tad short. This is Kelly really trying to embrace a rocker's edge, and I applaud her for the ambitious attempt. It just doesn't fit her perfectly. The chorus is nearly flawless, but she falters on the verse structure a tad. With some tweaking it could have been AMAZING.

So, this is certainly an album to snatch up, and it is one that serves up enough fun and entertaining tracks to make the average music listener very happy. It is not her best, but it is an all around pretty solid collection of pop music that you are sure to enjoy.

3-1/2 stars -- Where are all the Katy Perry comparisons coming from??? 3 Star Review
2009-11-23 - Kelly Clarkson has obvious talent, but her albums have never been really, TRULY exciting. Thankful was okay, but I didn't really care for Breakaway not because it was bad, but because every single song seemed to be about heartbreak. And My December was one of those cases where an album gets pushed back and after you listen to it, you understand why. Well, since I already have her first three albums, I figured why not listen to All I Ever Wanted?

First off, there are some emotional songs on here, but the subject matter isn't nearly as abundant as it was on some of Kelly's previous albums. And although they might sound decent, I don't know if they're the kind of songs you would run and tell a friend about either. I mean, "If I Can't Have You" is above-average, but after looking at the title, you can pretty much guess what the next line will be -- yep, "I don't want anyone".

But the good news is that the best songs were released first. I wasn't a big fan of "My Life Would Suck Without You" mainly because of the title, but it grew on me; and "I Do Not Hook Up" might be the best song on the album. "Already Gone" is quality too, as is the necessary end-of-album spiritual song "If No One Will Listen", which was originally done by Keri Noble.

The only real misstep is the out-the-place emo sound of "Whyyawannabringmedown"; and the way the chorus kicks in on the title track sounds weird. All I Ever Wanted isn't a bad album but it's probably something that only her biggest fans will be saying. B.I.F.

Pickles without Sceeds 1 Star Review
2009-11-20 - once everyone who listens to this album is trying to find it, they will know where to go. Turn left and jackamo street and you will see barry. He might turn out to be radioactive. Next get home to the last house. We all make mistakes but the bigger the teddy bear, the more vietnamese food it will eat you know? I think we should be happy that this album doesn't contain any milk or other products that could possibly cause the o-zone layer to fall to peices. No, I will not get married to a rooster just to help you bake a cake. Thanks for your osterich.

Kelly You are Amazing 5 Star Review
2009-11-19 - This album is absolutely amazing. I love it all. I even bought the deluxe edition to have the bonus tracks. I think Kelly is a wonderful singer and I love the guitar riffs in this album. I truly think this is where Kelly should stay, on the pop rock side. I didn't really care for her first album, the second was really good as well as My December. My December by the way is like my favorite album by her. My favorite songs on this album are My life would suck without you, I do not hook up, All I ever wanted, Already Gone, Whyyawannabringmedown, Long Shot, and Impossible. I actually do like the song Cry, but in a way it was almost like a country song and I don't like country at all. Kelly this is the path you should have taken from day one, keep up the good work, and stay on this path. THis is where you really shine.
