Description of Kid Rock:
Is Kid Rock about to drop the first half of his stage moniker? Some alarmingly mature cuts on his sixth album, addressing the woes of single parenthood ("Single Dad") and painful separations ("Cold and Empty," a cover of Bob Seger's "Hard Night For Sarah"), might suggest so. But that's only part of the story. As Rock reiterates on "Son of Detroit," a butt-kicking revamp of David Allan Coe's "Son of the South," "I like country, soul, rock and roll, and I love me some hip-hop." Yet compared to his previous work, that last flavor takes a back seat to the other three: Hank Williams, Jr. drops by for the swaggering "Cadillac Pussy," Bad Company's "Feel Like Makin' Love" gets a gritty nu-metal update, and ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd receive shout outs. Have no fear, fans--even as he reconciles having a child with acting like one, the Kid still lives to rock. --Kurt B. Reighley

2009-08-31 - I LOVE ALL OF KID ROCK'S MUSIC AND THIS ONE IS NO DIFFERENT. THIS CD HAS ALOT OF SONGS THAT I HAD NEVER HEARD HIM SING. I LOVE IT!!!
Where's the Kid Rock i used to know?
2009-07-28 - Honestly i loved "Devil Without A Cause" and "History of Rock" as they both have songs that rock the house with Rock and Rhyme. But this Album is not nearly as good as those. The only track i kinda liked was #7 and that's cause he rapped on it.He dont even attempt to rap on this album like he used to.I hate country and he's more doing that so i didnt buy this one.
Kid Rock "Some Southern Rock" Including Hank Williams, Jr. on "Cadillac P****"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2009-03-24 - This is an excellent Kid Rock Cd, one of his best. I've seen this guy perform, and he is great. This cd contains 15 great songs. Some highlights, I liked include: "Rock & Roll Pain Train", "Cadillac P****" (with Hank Williams, Jr.), "Black Bob", "Jackson, Mississippi" (Pure Southern Rock!!!), "Hillbilly Stomp", "Son of Detroit", and "Hard Night for Sara". This is a great one, and I highly recommend it. Thanks!!!!
Kid Rock Doesn't
2009-01-25 - This album feels like a warm up for the highly superior Rock and Roll Jesus. The fact is after listenting to Rock and Roll Jesus for awhile, I decided to get this record. Unfortunately, it is so non-descript that I had forgotten I already owned this record. This recording is for die-hard fans only.
