Description of The Cowboy Way:
Somebody in Hollywood thought there was some fish-out-of-water potential in this teaming of wild man Woody Harrelson and slow-burning Kiefer Sutherland as a pair of New Mexico cowboys who go to New York to tame the wild, wild, uh ... East. Well, they were mistaken, because this 1994 action-comedy is little more than a tiresome reworking of Crocodile Dundee. Woody and Kiefer head for the Big Apple to rescue the illegal-immigrant daughter of one of their rodeo buddies (who has mysteriously disappeared), and what they discover is a sweatshop operation run by a hot-tempered thug (Dylan McDermott, before his role on TV's The Practice). That's when the boys start using their ropin' and shootin' skills to foil the bad guys. One measure of this film's credibility is the inevitable scene of the boys riding on horseback through the gridlocked streets of Manhattan. Uh huh. You know how it goes... you just have to go with it or marvel at the sheer stupidity of it all. Of course, forget all the sniping if you're a fan of Harrelson or Sutherland--they're both doing their best under the burden of disadvantage. --Jeff Shannon

The Cowboy Way
2009-08-10 - This is a really good movie for horse people or people who like western type movies. It stars Woody Harrelson and Kiefer Sutherland. They are very funny together. The story is about these two guys who grew up in New Mexico together. The become estranged about a year before the movie starts for reasons that they reveal later in the movie and have to work together through the movie to help a friend. The friend is a cuban man who's daughter is being smuggled into america from cuba for money. One of the smugglers get's greedy and tells him he wants more. He leaves a note saying he's going to New York and when he isn't heard from for a couple of days, Kiefer Sutherland get's worried and him and Woody Harrelson head to New York to try and find Nacho and his daughter, where their cowboy ways seem strange and can get them in trouble. The whole movie is very good. It's funny and has action balanced with the comedy very well. It's a good watch for anyone who likes cowboy movies, comedies, westerns, or action movies.

2009-07-17 - Bought for my husband and he liked it alot. he doesn't watch alot of movies but the ones he watches he buys. doesn't rent alot. his movies are keepers.the green mile is his favorite. but he liked cowboys way enough to search and buy. thank you.
Very Funny!!!
2009-03-24 - My mom has had this movie for years, and last night, we all sat down and watched it. It was really good, and very funny! Everybody did an awesome job. It was funny to see Jack Bauer (Kiefer) dressed as a Cowboy. There is plenty of action and laughs! It had a classic fish out of water story. Pepper Lewis and Sonny Gilstrap travel to New York to help a friend and save his daughter. When they find out their friend was killed, they set out to find him. I highly recommend THE COWBOY WAY!!!
Delightful
2008-07-17 - This was one of the most delightful feel good movies I have seen in some time. I added it to my collection of great movies. It had action, comedy and feelings. One of the good ones to watch.
