    Description of 9 1/2 Weeks:
Frequently given short shrift as a blue movie (which it is) and as mindless (which it isn't), director Adrian Lyne's follow-up to Flashdance (insert own joke here) is a thoughtful, smutty film about a bad sexual relationship. It follows the two-month affair between Elizabeth, an art-gallery dealer, and John, a Wall Street exec. The relationship spirals downward into raunchier sex (filmed, by the way, quite nicely) but principally is about two adults doing adult things but not acting anything like real adults. Attempts at actual human connection, about the longing to be "good," are present here and make this an above-average erotic film. Rourke is just honing his scumbag, bad-boy persona; but it doesn't overwhelm. Lots and lots of Kim Basinger. --Keith Simanton

    9 1/2 Weeks Reviews:
    9 1/2 Weeks 4 Star Review
2009-10-28 - I really didn't like the movie all that much, but my cousin is the one that wanted it. She would give it a good review. All I can say is that the product arrived on time, in good condition, undamaged, and would give the seller 5 stars.

A story about primitive people 4 Star Review
2009-08-14 - John is an emotionally undeveloped wimp who seems to have a middle brain so dead he can't get it up in life without resorting to creating artificial scenarios to provoke the most basic drives in himself and his consort. Elizabeth is an unsophisticated and clueless girl who gets wrapped up in John's web of primitive taunts, but ultimately wakes up to his faux lifestyle. The movie is well executed to the point that the whole revolting mess is loudly and proudly portrayed. It's enough to make any reasonable person peauke. Great acting and directing. You'll want to see an action flick after this story just for relief. Give a copy to your kids as a great example of how not to live life.

Where is the plot? Answer: There is none. Really Awful. 1 Star Review
2009-07-14 - Totally meaningless sex and more meaningless sex. One tenth of a second side shot of one [...] and that was the highlight of the movie. That is all you are going to see. No story at all. Save your money and if you really must see this movie, rent it. Don't waste you money. For that matter, don't waste two hours of your life watching it either.

Mickey Rourke is Breathtaking 5 Star Review
2009-06-26 - QUESTION: What is the difference between your normal DVD version of this movie, 'uncut, uncensored, etc" that you have sold all along and the one that is going to be released on June 30, 2009? The only thing I can see that might be different is the case ( keepcase ) is better quality...but it says its a 'director's cut'. Can anyone explain the difference? If there is more footage than the original "uncut, uncensored" version which I bought from you a few months ago, please let us know...otherwise its just $3 more, just for a better case.

I loved this movie, despite all its flaws.I wasn't so much into the content of it, (although that was ok, too) but Mickey Rourke was BREATHTAKING, gorgeous, you can't take your eyes off him when he is on screen. I mean he never looked better, before or since. Actually, he could just recite the phone book and I would have bought the movie, so as far as a critical analysis, I can only say, its a reasonably good flick to watch at home, big bowl of popcorn, very sexy and romantic in a weird way, some good scenes, well done, especially if you have an '80's nostalgia ( I do ) but you get the feeling that a lot of it had been cut out. Its worth the trip, just for Mickey! Oh, and Kim Bassinger was decent, too!

One of my all time favorite movies!!! 5 Star Review
2009-06-26 - I think Mickey Rourke is sooo sexy in this movie. This might be why I keep coming back to it and watching it whenever I feel the need. The story is sexy and the way the director shot it really helps with the atmosphere. All in all, it's a keeper, for sure. Another great one: Two Moon Junction.
