Asylum Reviews:
KISS is on a roll...A Rock 'N' Roll, that is!
2009-11-17 - This is another great studio release by one of my all-time favorite bands. KISS continues to rock you out with more of that great 1980's style Glam/Pop/Rock sound that pervaded the music scene of the time, and which KISS did so well. This is one of those albums that I can always listen to and find myself singing right along with it all throughout. A slight change in the line-up brought Bruce Kulick into the fold, replacing lead guitarist Mark St. John. Eric Carr returns once again on drums. And of course the great Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons round things out.
Standout tracks include King Of The Mountain, Any Way You Slice It, Who Wants To Be Lonely, Trial By Fire, Tears Are Falling, Radar For Love, and Uh! All Night.
KISS Hair rock!
2009-11-14 - Probably, Asylum is one of the albums farther from the band's original sound. However, the compositional quality suited to the band at times and songs like "King of the Mountain", "Tears are fallin '," "Who wants to be lonely" or "Trial by Fire," will not disappoint to you!
Drop the coin right into the slot
2009-11-11 - You gotta hear something that really rocks. Bruce Kulick, yes, talented man. It's Paul the Paul era. Made for lovin' you. Who wants to be lonely, tears are falling. The MTV outfits are scarier than the greasepaint. But it's good pop. Good sex. I've got a good Memory. Calling Dr. Love. It's got what it takes. If you want it up crazy. I do.
not the best cover
2009-06-16 - no never liked the cover, but all 10 songs rock. it's ashame they just completely forget the 80's catalogue touring nowadays, you have the 3 singles, but the other 7 songs rock.KING OF THE MOUNTAIN & LOVE'S A DEADLY WEAPON,2 of the best.not the glossy rock/pop metal production that would show up on CRAZY NIGHTS.
Asylum was and still is a major let down
2009-03-26 - I remember 1985. First thing I thought upon looking at the horrible artwork was 'God, I hope the music will speak for itself'. Well, needless to say, it turned out to be only the wishful thinking of a 16-year-old fan. I had thoroughly enjoyed Animalize, Lick It Up, Creatures Of The Night and Music From The Elder but something was definitely wrong this time! The music didn't sound convincing as the band got sadly immersed - and then lost - in the 80's unbelievable mindless acts. This wasn't the Kiss I liked and I was right. And what's funny, being the huge fan I am, I've been secretly trying to make myself enjoy Asylum for 24 years now... and counting!
