Unmasked Reviews:
Candly pop 3 Star Review
2009-11-14 - If KISS left a important fan base with the album Dynasty, with UNMASKED they confirmed as a commercial band that leveraged the rhythms of fashion to sell as many records.

However, this record allowed them to devote themselves in Europe and leave to posterity such classics as "Shandi", "Talk to Me," "It's that You?" Among others. If you're a KISS fan and you love disco music, you should buy it!

What the...? Who are these impostors?! 2 Star Review
2009-11-11 - What the heck were they putting into the water back when this album was recorded? What happened to KISS? I thought it was just Ace and Peter who had the drinking and drug problems back then? Is the whole world going crazy?! Seriously though, I really do not care much for this album, as you can tell. Sure, it's sounds nice and all in a weird mainstream Pop music kind of way, but, this is supposed to be KISS cuz' the album cover said so. Where's the Rock 'N' Roll? I will now quote that famous line from the Family Guy KISS spoof episode (KISS Saves Santa) where Gene says, "That does NOT Rock!" Yikes! Even poor Ace Frehley is somehow converted into a mere shell of his former self, singing songs about such mundane topics as coins, and talking. What the? Where's the Ace I once knew, who sung cool songs like Shock Me, and Rocket Ride? Okay, I'll admit, Ace's songs are still pretty good. But the rest of it reminds me of some kind of 50's Sci Fi movie plot. Auuuggghhhh! Invasion of the Pod People! Help! Ha! That's it, that's all I've got to say. later!

Under rated KISS 4 Star Review
2009-11-05 - This is a cool KISS album. It features tightly written, well crafted, melodic rock songs. All the songs have cool gritty rythm guitars w/ a clean and clear production. It may be a bit different than a lot of other KISS albums, but still rocks with some pop polish. Way better than Animalize or Crazy Nights because of the songwriting. It's a must in a collection I think. Not to start out with. You should get the first seven or eight albums first.

Exotica 5 Star Review
2009-11-02 - "Love Gun" essentially is lounge music, or close. Tom Jones, Sammy Davis Jr. Elvis. "I Was Made For Lovin' You." Purring and pleasing. Then "Shandi." Sounds pretty close to Starship's "Sara." Plastic. It's that Applebee's sound. Dean Martin disco. Go Paul! The cute one! Happy hour in Tampa, Houston, downtown St. Louis. Not especially Halloween, more like being married a while. Unmasked. Girls like a little dance music, if you had a girl's body you would too. Swirl the straw, make the first move, you're supposed to be the big spender. "Disco sucks," they said, as if that wasn't a really good thing. I just wish these playboys would get around to adding bachelor pad brass for an album or two. Live long enough, anything's possible.

POP album, not bad, not KISS 3 Star Review
2009-10-08 - This album is not a Rock album but a POP album through and through. it has songs written and recorded for top 40 radio.
Its very good (its couda used alittle more Bass tho and less treble) but still...KISS???
Kiss lost themselves with this one, trying to be more popular and reaching new audiences perhaps.
Still.....its a good album, just not rock and roll.....but then agian,m Kiss has doen disco, grunde, county, you name it, just adds to their divercity I guess.
