Kylie Minogue - Greatest Hits Reviews:
Great Artist
2003-02-10 - Ok I know youa re thinking should i buy these two cds for 28 bucks. Well think of it as fourteen bucks a cd which is normal price. I always knew Kylie was an international star but never knew why casue i just knew the locomotion. Then on a trip to europe I was introduced to more of her songs like the hit Spinning Around. Now she is back here in the states and I loved her album Fever. So I said you know what, i might really like this girl. So in a record store i bumped into this album which has her greatest hits of the late eighties and early ninties. I was not disappointed at all. I mean can we say madonna, rick ashley, paula abdul all in one artist. The songs are great pop dance songs. Where was this girl in the states. How could we reject her. And then the other cd has 50 non stop songs of hers and a bonus track. That way you get a little peek at other songs you might like. If you are looking for her late nineties stuff this is not the album for you. It is strictly late eighties and early ninties hits. Excellent Compilation.
Kylie's SAW Years
2002-06-28 - This greatest hits set encapsulates Minogue's early hits with Stock/Aitken/Waterman, starting way back when with the now-classic 'I Should Be So Lucky' up through her final record with them, a remake of 'Celebration'(though S/A/W were red-hot in the late '80s, there best work was undoubtedly with Minogue). In between, we get some of Minogue's finest singles, chief among them 'Hand On Your Heart','Better The Devil You Know', 'What Do I Have To Do', and 'Step Back In Time'. As with any artist, we also get some less-than-thrilling moments, those here being 'Tears On My Pillow'(one of her worst records ever) and 'Especially For You'(her sappy duet with "Neighbours" costar Jason Donovan). Still, those two are just small ripples in what is overall a first-rate collection. Those just discovering or rediscovering Kylie should definately check this one out.
Kommence your Kylie Kollection here...
2002-03-24 - Now that Kylie has kracked the US, we Yanks have a lot of katching up to do. Jump start your Kylie krash kourse with this album which kollects 50 of her foundational hits. You don't get the wealth of wonderful mixes but you kan find those later once you've learned the basics and found your own favorites.
Kylie has not sold 30 million CDs and outsold Madonna konsistantly in the British Isles just because little girls and ...boys like her. She's done it because she amazingly sells CDs across all demographics. In her British koncerts, this fan range and follower scope is evident...Katch this girl, she will out-legend Elvis and Edith Piaf. Mark my words.
Not sure what to make of it
2002-02-27 - First CD is awesome, all the songs I remember from Kylie. But the second disc is odd.. it has partial songs.. never heard an album like that before. And the liner looks "photo-copied" like the company distributing it is making it in their garage..
Finally.
2002-02-14 - Back when these songs first came out I was a huge fan. Goodness, it seems like so long ago since I use to watch the Loca-Motion video on TV. After a while I tryed to find the CD, but I never could remeber the artist's name. Then I was watching VH1's Where Are they Now? program and they showed Kylie, and the videos I use to watch so much. I immediately tried to find her CD, but to no avail. Then I was watching the new video "Can't Get You Out of My Head" on MTV and thought, "Who the heck is that?". Then when I realized it was Kylie I couldn't beleive it. What a change! So I tried to find her original songs again and came across this box set. Her Loca-Motion days may be behind her, but these songs bring back some great memories. Shame she had to have a hit again for all her old stuff to be re-issued, but I'm not complaining at all. This is a great set.
