Ultimate Kylie Reviews:
Ultimate Kylie Indeed
2008-06-22 - I would definitely recommend this cd to fans of Kylie Minogue and non fans alike. What I love about this cd is that many of these songs are beautifully compiled together in terms of time era. For example, if you want to listen to Kylie in the 80's and 90's for the moment you would definitely check out cd 1. However if you crave the songs from the 2000's with some from the 90's check out cd 2. One of my favorite songs on her compilation is "come into my world" while my husband's is "where the wild roses grow". Many of the gems that I love of hers are on these cds but my top other fave songs would have to be "red blooded woman", "can't get you out of my head", "on a night like this", "in your eyes" and "slow". I love the ultimate kylie collection because it is upbeat, cheerful, sensual, and erotic at the same time. Plus this collection is any gem that will appeal to various occassions. If you like pop and/or europop or dance you will love this collection. Obviously this is another purchase that I definitely feel is well worth the money.
Minogue Magic
2007-07-17 - This 2-disc collection is quite possibly the best compilation of pop music ever put together. It's my favorite pop CD, especially the first disc. I don't know why Kylie didn't make it bigger over here back in the day; she is a Pop Princess if ever there was one. The first disc is my favorite of the two; it consists of the 80s stuff and has some of the catchiest beats of anything I've heard. I especially love: I Should Be So Lucky, What Do I Have to Do, Wouldn't Change a Thing, Hand on Your Heart, Got to Be Certain, and Je Ne Sais Quo. But don't count disc 2 out, no way. It has the more recent stuff Kylie's done as her "comeback" second phase, and it definitely grows on the listener. It is Kylie being more independent, including having a hand in a lot of the writing, and shows she is truly an artist in her own right. I really like Giving You Up on the second disc. This collection shows Kylie has definitely had staying power. Great work, Kylie. Fans of female pop singers must have this collection.
kylie mimnogue is the ultimate
2007-07-17 - utimate kylie has 33 sogs on 2 cds. on cd 1 you get i should be so lucky, the loco motion, better the devil you know, shocked, give me just a little more time, hand on your heart, i wouldn't change a thing, and celebration. on cd 2 you get i believe in you, can't get you out of my head ,love at first sight(a different song from the one on kylie.),slow, choclate, did it again, and where the wild roses grow.listen to this album and hear some ultimate music! ed wilson
non-compatible, protected player
2007-06-18 - Don't buy it. I would give it zero stars if there were a zero option.
The music is good, but the manufacturer encoded the cd's with a custom music player. You CANNOT use your own mp3/cd player. Why these idiots went to this trouble is beyond human reason. These aren't rocket science secrets, it's MUSIC PEOPLE!
I was never so frustrated trying to listen to these cd's. It FORCES you to install their own player, which has some privacy and other software warnings. I immediately uninstalled it.
Don't buy it.
Ultimate Doesn't Even Begin to Describe.....
2007-04-25 - Sometimes I hate being an American! This is my thought when I think about how enjoyable this 2 disc collection of Kylie Minogue's greatest hits really is! Besides her LOCOMOTION and the FEVER ALBUM, America really heard little of Australia's princess in recent years! And what a shame that is! I've always known her to be a gay icon but I took that status with a grain of salt since there is nothing gay men love then a hot pop diva, but ohhh I underestimated Kylie!
I bought the CD on my last trip to the UK and I have to say I was only familar with BETTER THE DEVIL YOU KNOW, which is still a favorite of mine with the most amazing dance beats, LOCOMOTION, I JUST CANT GET YOU OUTTA MY HEAD, I SHOULD BE SO LUCKY, LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT, and COME INTO MY WORLD. This CD has so much more to offer and it didn't take me long to discover the other gems on this CD!
SHOCKED, what can you say about a song that makes you incredibly happy and makes you dance like a maniac while driving to work everyday! One of the best songs on the first disc. Another favorite of the first disc is HAND ON YOUR HEART! The melody on this song is soo catchy you'll be humming it through even the most stressful situations! Other highlights of the first disc include, ESPECIALLY FOR YOU, JE NE SAIS PAS POURQUOI, and NEVER TOO LATE!
The second disc opens with a song that I was familar with but did not realize it was Miss Minogue! I BELIEVE IN YOU may even be the strongest song on either one of the discs! It is so unlike any other dance song I've danced/listened to and is infectious! It will have you dancing in the most random of places!! Of course you get the hits from the FEVER ALBUM such as CANT GET YOU OUTTA MY HEAD, LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT, COME INTO MY WORLD, AND IN YOUR EYES! These songs really show how she's grown musically since 1987!
Other highlights on the 2nd disc are as follows RED BLOODED WOMAN, SPINNING AROUND (another song I'd heard before but never connected to Kylie and a great dance tune!!), PLEASE STAY, and BREATHE. I even came to enjoy WHERE THE WILD ROSES GROW, not b/c its a bad song just b/c it is such a haunting song. Kylie's vocals on the song even bring her into character as Eliza Day!
Finally, this CD is a must for any DIVA fan or fan of really ecclectic music! Kylie lacks the "in your face"-ness of Madonna and has Cher's staying power! She's magical! Well worth the extra money for the "import" price!
