Description of The Closer - The Complete Third Season:
Deputy Chief Brenda Johnson (Kyra Sedgwick) is back in season three of TNT's crime procedural The Closer. With a couple years at the Los Angeles police department already under her belt, Brenda has proven that her eccentric method works at getting confessions from even the most hardened criminals. But even she's not quite sure how to handle the season opener, where a slaughtered family's sole survivor is the stunned, stoned teenage son. Bleak, dark and wonderfully scripted, the opener sets the tone for the 14 episodes that follow it. With an exaggerated Southern drawl that belies her hard edged attitude, Brenda is at her best in the field. But when dropped into personal situations, she often flounders. For instance, though she commands a team of officers underneath her, she still doesn't know how to tell her parents she lives with her boyfriend, FBI special agent Fritz Howard (Jon Tenney, Fools Rush In). The awkward (and sometimes poignant) moments between Johnson and her folks humanize her, giving her added dimension. Sedgwick is adept at comedy, and a couple of the episodes take advantage of her skills. Jostling with an over zealous bridezilla at a crime scene, Johnson becomes the subject of a popular Youtube video. "You've become the most downloaded fully-clothed woman on the Internet," announces her boss, Will Pope (J.K. Simmons). There is some internal drama when Brenda is ordered to make budget cuts by firing someone in her group. But the best moments occur when Brenda--calm as a cucumber--does what she does best: closes cases. Aside from a couple episodes that allude to past years, this third season (which originally aired in 2007), is easy to follow even for new viewers who haven't seen previous episodes. --Jae-Ha Kim

The Closer - The Complete Third Season Reviews:
    The Closer 4 Star Review
2009-10-10 - The Closer, Season Three, arrived within the timeframe we agreed on and was in good condition.

Season 3 the best ever 5 Star Review
2009-09-21 - I thought Season 3 was the funniest of them all so far. I like the idea of drama with comedic touches thrown in the mix. Episode #3 Saving Face was the best of all the episodes.

The Closer is the best 5 Star Review
2009-08-31 - Excellent script and acting. The show is clever, witty, and exceedingly interesting. This is my favorite show.

The Closer is a GREAT show! 4 Star Review
2009-08-14 - This is definitely one of my favorite shows. Kyra Sedgewich is so believable in all her quirkiness! This season wasn't quite as good as the last two but it was still so much better than most of what is out there. I love buying the full season and watching the episodes in order!

    Too Annoying 2 Star Review
2009-08-06 - I am not giving this series 1 star only because the stories therein are not completely lost. I don't watch much TV, only when someone else is watching TV and I am just hanging out. I caught this a few times, and I can clasify this as a comedy.

Why a comedy? Kyra Sedgwick's character reminds me of a bobblehead doll with a short fuse. It seems like she may become the perp at any given time. She is a hotheaded blonde with an annoying voice. Her voice is gruff and she kind of reminds me of a man, not all the time 'but what a masculine woman' comes to mind at times. It's hit or miss really, her character just does not strike me as very feminine. This character has a lot to do with my rating of the show because when I had first seen this, I realized that she was in it a lot then comcluded that she is the main character which stricken me with disbelief.

This is a comedy because I laugh every time she completely blows her lid at someone she is interogating, she does not just yell, her blood vessels just about pop out of her bobblehead and her eyes look like they are going to pop out of their sockets. Goodness, what a firecracker this one is. This is vaguely entertaining, considering the fact that this person who I cannot take seriously on this show is having a yelling spell at a perp, to the point of vehement angst. Can't blame her for making her job personal.

If you are into comedy I would suggest this, but other than that stay away.
