Editorial Review:
The King is back! Funnier. Feistier. And more lovable then ever. Doug Heffernan (Kevin James) returns as the delivery guy with the whole package. Along with Carrie (Leah Remini) and his tenacious father-in-law Arthur (Jerry Stiller) Doug turns blue-collar humor into red-hot laughs. When he's not punching the clock he's working overtime to be around everything he loves the most - his wife his buddies and his big screen TV. No matter where trouble finds him Doug faces it with a smile in his heart and a pastrami sub on his plate. In the hit comedy's second season one thing is certain...THE KING OF QUEENS still rules!System Requirements:Starring: Kevin James Leah Remini Jerry Stiller Running Time: 557 Min. Description of The King of Queens - The Complete Second Season:
Like its characters, The King of Queens is a unpretentious but utterly dependable sitcom. Kevin James and Leah Remini, as blue-collar couple Doug and Carrie Heffernan, have the kind of chemistry that every sitcom craves (but far too few have). Layered on top of this solid foundation are the bizarre flights of Jerry Stiller as Arthur, Carrie's loud, paranoid, and combustible father.
The second season has no overarching plotlines or recurring themes; it's just a compilation of excellent material, including Doug's ego inflating when a waitress flirts with him; Doug and Carrie squirming when their best friends ask them to be godparents; Doug discovering that Carrie compulsively cheats at games; and a flashback to when they first met. It's the attention to emotional detail that makes the show fly; James and Remini take the most mundane material--say, an argument over where to go for a vacation or how their marriage lacks romance--and turn the many ways in which couples cope into a pugnacious duet. Their sparring not only is funny, but consistently rings true as irrational but oh-so-common human behavior. The show pulls you in all the more because the Heffernans make up just as often as they fight, demonstrating one of the most functional marriages on television. It's meat-and-potatoes comedy, but sometimes nothing else will hit the spot. --Bret Fetzer
The King of Queens - The Complete Second Season Reviews:

Best Show on TV that never got any attention
2008-10-30 - The King of Queens was the best show on TV and it didn't get the respect it deserved. It was on the air for nine seasons, that says something about it. Wasn't Seinfeld on for nine seasons? It was wholesome and family oriented and I could watch it with my sons and husband and not be embarrassed. So much of their personalities were the same as my husband and I, I started calling him 'Doug'. I miss the whole family and wish it were back on the air. I only have season eight to buy and then my collection will be complete.
King of Queens
2008-06-08 - The King of Queens - The Complete Second Season
Was not a fan of TKOQ when it was a weekly sitcom. Started watching the nightly re-runs about a year ago and became addicted. I purchased sesaon one and quickly laughed my way through it! Finding myself wanting more without having to wait for my the one hour re-run each night, I bought the second season. Doug Cary and Arthur continue to amaze me with their comedic wit and timing. The characters and the mess they get into are so funny and even funnier is that some of the story lines are actually believable! AS as New Yorker, i can write that the Queesn, N.Y and many other NYC referecences area authentic! Cary steals the show in many of the episodes, but Doug is still my man! Doug and I have alot in common in that we realy like Arthur most of the time. I look forward to purchasing the Third Season.
Great comedy
2008-04-21 - One of my favourite sitcoms, The King Of Queens is nicely presented in this DVD box. Image and sound quality are fine, the menu handling is quick and easy.
