Editorial Review:
THE DAZZLING RISE OF A YOUNG COUNTRY STAR
Last summer, "Blue," sung by LeAnn Rimes but originally written for Patsy Cline, became the fastest rising single of all time. Her album of the same name debuted at #1. And it all happened before her fourteenth birthday.
Who is this singer with the incredible voice, the youngest ever artist ever nominated for a Country Music Association Award, and winner of the Grammy Award for Best New Artist? Jo Sgammato traveled from Nashville to LeAnn's hometown of Pearl, Mississippi, then followed her path to Dallas and beyond to reveal her inspiring life. From singing at eighteen months through dazzling performances at talent shows, opry stages and sports arenas, here is the heartwarming story of a determined young singer and an American family whose dedication made A DREAM COME TRUE.

It Was Great!
1998-07-01 - I thought it was good...it tells the truth about LeAnn's life. It has a lot of stuff about when she was little. It goes into detail.
I likes this book because it was interesting and fun.
1998-05-06 - The book was about LeAnn Rimes, a singer. She was the youngest ever nominated for best new artist. She could sing when she was 18 monthes old, where she went on to talent shows, opry stages, and sports stadiums. LeAnn Rimes has always liked to sing and likes to be with her family. LeAnn always got special attention because she was an only child.
Excellent topic, but poor research done by author.
1997-12-08 - As a great fan of LeAnn Rimes, I have to say I found this biography more than a little disappointing. I discovered absolutely no information on her that couldn't be found in the most superficial interviews she has given. Since reading it I have also learned, from a interview with LeAnn herself, that not only was she not consulted in the writing of this book, the author did not even bother to interview her! It was based primarily on past interviews conducted by other writers. I you have absolutely no knowlege of LeAnn you might enjoy this book, otherwise I recommend passing it over.
