Disney's 1967 animated feature seems even more entertaining now than it did upon first release, with a hall-of-fame vocal performance by Phil Harris as Baloo, the genial bear friend of feral child Mowgli. Based on fiction by Rudyard Kipling, the film goes its own way as Disney animation will, but the strong characters and smart casting (George Sanders as the villainous tiger, Shere Khan) make it one of the studio's stronger feature-length cartoons. Description of The Jungle Book [Region 2]:
A classic 1967 Disney animated film that's loosely based on Rudyard Kipling's book of the same name, Jungle Book tells the story of a young boy Mowgli who was raised by animals in the jungle. When tiger Shere Khan threatens to return to their part of the jungle, the other animals decide that Mowgli must return to the man village in order to ensure his safety. Panther Bagheera has difficulty convincing Mowgli to follow him to the man village and recruits the help of a big lovable bear Baloo. Mowgli's journey is one of wit, song, and many surprises. 2009-11-23 - This dvd is not as good as #2. My daughter is OK with it but prefers the other one when the girl and the little boy comes along.

Greatest Movie Ever
2009-11-16 - I honestly belive before Disney went all CGI they were the greatest producers of family favorites, and I remember that at the end of all the old Disney Movies I watched as a kid there was a message to be learned like this one THE JUNGLE BOOK. The story of Mogli a orphaned man child that is trying to find his place in the world and be friends a loveable bear name Baloo who helps teach him that all he needs are the bear necessities eventually he finds that what he needed all along was confidence and when he has finally faced it and has it he goes to where he belongs. This is by far one of the greatest movies of all time and should be shared by families every where.

2009-11-04 - THIS IS A GREAT VIDEO. I LOVE JUST ABOUT EVERY DISNEY CLASSIC . THIS IS A TRUE TREASURE AND IT IS ALSO A LIFETIME ADVENTURE W/ BALOO AND MOGLEY. I LOVE THIS AND I RECOMMEND THIS VIDEO TO ANYONE WHO LIKES DISNEY CARTOONS.

Jungle book
2009-10-13 - Received in great shape. Watched the VHS about a month ago and the DVD quality is A LOT better! Haven't had a chance to watch the special features though.

2009-08-09 - We are in our 60's and we found this a wonderful change from all the garbage on TV.. we laughed and enjoyed the movie very much.... You don't have to be a kid you know! Great music too.
