Borders & Boundries Reviews:
Okay, but ultimately dissapointing
2004-11-21 - Thyis CD isn't horrible, but it certainly isn't the Less than Jake I'm used to. This CD feels like Alternative rather than Ska. The guitar isn't near as catchy as it was in either "Pez Core", "Losing Streak" or "Hello Rockview". In fact, when I first listened to this CD, I had to ask myself what made this CD ska at all. The horns have also been reduced to much weaker sound. Rather than filling the body of the CD they sort of "accompany" everything else, and are absent in many of the songs. Perhaps my expectations for LTJ were too high, but even so, in terms of ska, this CD really doesn't cut it. It does have some catchy tunes, no question about it, but if you are looking for a ska CD, you sould save your money and look elsewhere. This CD was written on tour through loads of coffee booze and whatever else LTJ was doing at the time, and it really shows in the end product.
well, its really 2 cd's on one disc
2003-05-28 - this is borders and boundaries with some live bonus tracks. the live tracks were released before, they are on the LTJ Live 7 track-#in cd. it was available on their tour with Goldfinger and reel big fish. the 3in cd is out of print so this is a good way to get the songs, esp. if you are a ltj fan, otherwise, get the domestic version.
BUY IT!!!!!!
2002-05-30 - this album is much different to hello rockveiw and losing streak but still awesome. the boys have changed and mellowed out a bit, I borrowed this album of another LTJ fan but it did'nt have the live tracks and thought it was great so when i bought it and it had the live tracks on it that was just an added bonus!!!!!!!
B and B rocks!
2001-06-17 - I borrowed this album from another LTJ fan and just had to buy it. The live extra tracks all give you that urge to tap that foot some more- Down in the mission being the best. The album itself is mighty impressive- with Look What Happened, Malt Liqeor, Last Hour of the last day and 1989 all being worthy of high praise. But his album if you like the way LTJ do punk- but don't expect any ska. I thought that LTJ punk was pretty wet before this album, another succesful conversion from the Gainseville Guys!
