Editorial Review: Japanese pressing includes one bonus track. EMI. 2009. Lady Love Reviews: GRADE A LYRICAL MASTERY 2009-10-26 - If You Like Pop, Soul And Hip-Hop Than This Is The CD For You. My Favorite Tracks Are "AFTER PARTY" Groundbreaking Soul Music, "I NEED A U" A Classy Romantic Ballad, "TAKE AWAY LOVE" A Modest R&B Jam, "She Ain't Got" A Brilliant Pop Single, "Regret" A Sweet Blend Of Soul And Hip-Hop, "DONT NEED U" Going Back To The Marching Band Drumline Sound, "Matter" Old School Royalty, "SWAGGER" Hip-Hop Greatness, "LADY LOVE" The Tantalizing Title Tune And LeTOYA's Most Cohesive Dance Single Yet. This Album Is Truly A Collection Of Multi-Platinum Hits And A Lady (H-TOWN PRINCESS)With Remarkable Singing Talent.
LeToya Assured & Confident! 2009-09-26 - LeToya puts on the table an album exclusively portraying rhythm and blues straight through along love themes, life-lessons, and self-confident attitudes. Straying from her past hip-hop dark edge R&B blend she incorporates music that is laid back, soft on the ears, thought-provoking, and with real issues many people face. It's a definite switch from the party, up-tempo crunk to a slower to mid-tempo laid back groove. For those who like this type of mellow jams vibe then enjoy!
For hip-hop lovers, don't loose hope as the track "Swagger" featuring Slim Thug, Bun B and Killa Kyleon provide the excellent heavy bass-lines, thumping beats, and up-tempo sound. This 16-track Japan Import provides the best by giving this song thus making it a more funky, dance friendly, party feeling to enjoy. Also, this includes the lyrical fold out sheet with all the words and obi-strip. The bonus track has bounce, electronica hints, and much appeal.
The catchy "She Ain't Got" and "Lady Love" bring much attraction for the amazing roller-coaster journey in the listening experience plus great hooks on the first. There's also an array of featured artists like Ludacris, Estelle, Mims, and Slim Thug, Bun B, and Killa Kyleon. While the featured artists are present, they don't necessarily carry the dark hip-hop/R&B blend. Songs range from topics that are focused to love like standing up for yourself, and to just moving on from a not so good lover. Overall, this is the entire style from start to finish. Love in the central spotlight, its issues, and being good to yourself by loving yourself!
Very surprising rocking cd! 2009-09-19 - So my friend was pumping this cd everyday omg like its so good it was in her facebook status every day so I finally got a chance to hear the cd and although I'm sucker for female R&B (e.g Ashanti, Bey, Amerie Teedra Moses etc) i was VERY surprised at the production, the lyrics, her vocals it was put together perfectly. Granted I did like her torn single a few years ago but I wrote her off as a fluke Destiny Child spinoff but i will definitely apologize this girl has real talent and this is a great R&B album. Please spread the word don't download lets support she should at least go gold! My favorites of course Regret, love the lyrics & luda is smooth on the track as well. Take away with Estelle rocks, btw when is Estelle going to put something new out. I need a U wooo just a soft loving song. I even like the 'light' cursing in the cd gives an soft hardcore-ness & She Aint Got is a perfect example of that slightly Rhianna sounding (beat wise) but Toya holds it down in her own original way. Stop reading this review and and order the cd LOL!
Best Album of 2009 2009-09-15 - It's sad that this album will not be recognized as it should be. It has not had enough publicity. She's stuck in the shadow of Beyonce and that just sucks all around. This album is better than Beyonce's release without a shadow of a doubt. I can listen to it from beginning to end and not skip a track. She ripped this album on all fronts. It has great slow songs, but it also has some bangin up tempo jams. I really do love this album. I hope that those that do stop by to read these reviews take them to heart and purchase this album.
Best RnB CD of 2009, HANDS DOWN! 2009-09-06 - I completely agree with the other reviews it is one of the few CD's that can be played from beginning to end. I was anticipating the release of this CD because I loved her single "She Ain't Got" and my best friend fell in love her other release "Not Anymore." If you buy only one CD this year make it this one. I have ALOT of music, I listen to everything from Taylor Swift and 3OH3! to Jay-Z and Brandy, so anyone who knows me that when I say out of all my CD's this year this is the best it really must be. Don't take my word for it go buy it and see for yourself.
