Editorial Review:
Tha Carter III is the sixth studio album by rapper Lil Wayne and it is the final album in Tha Carter trilogy. Originally known as the youngest Hot Boy, Lil' Wayne has orchestrated a steady stream of hits. The New Orleans rapper began his long career with Cash Money as part of the Hot Boys, a popular late-'90s supergroup consisting of Juvenile, Turk, and B.G.

Description of Tha Carter III:
Lil Wayne put out enough material in 2007 to inspire a Vibe magazine list of the 77 best Lil Wayne songs of that year alone. That level of output is the primary reason behind Tha Carter III's bumpy ride. The albums opens well with the appropriately boastful "3 Peat," followed by the symbolic torch-passing of "Mr. Carter," featuring Jay-Z. But nothing matches or exceeds that until the Swizz Beatz-produced lark "Dr. Carter" and the album's arguable high point "Phone Home." Framed by simple, bombastic beats from Cool & Dre, Lil Wayne argues in "Phone Home" that he's so far beyond the competition he's extra-terrestrial. Within that track comes a stellar example of how Weezy's reptilian flow can let an inspired aside such as "I'm rare, like Mr. Clean with hair" slip by almost unnoticed. But no artist this prolific can avoid dropping some duds amongst the winners. The disc's three monster hits sound silly ("Lollipop"), annoying ("A Milli"), and generally uninspired ("Got Money") when stacked up against the non-hits. David Banner's musical backing for "La La" provides the kind of brain-tickling inventiveness that Lil Wayne should always have in order to push his gift for verbal absurdity to greater heights. --Kris Kendall

Tha Carter III Reviews:
should of delayed it till i died 1 Star Review
2009-10-03 - this albums is garbage, the lyrics are trash, i thought when i bought it i was going to bang it up and down the streets but after listing to the whole album i put it through a paper shredder. it was probably the worst album i ever heard in my life, i officially lost all respect for lil Wayne, i don't under stand why sold over a million in one week problaly because of alll the hype. i suggest buying Nas Untitled that some realness right there

* hey weezy thanks for scamming us

1st time reviewer, but just had to! 5 Star Review
2009-09-12 - I am a lover of art, and the lines that lil' wayne drop are awesome, sometimes hilarious, and absolutely brilliant. I don't listen to much rap but can't get enough of this album. His lyrics stick in my head all day. I could care less what other people have to say, I love listening to the artist collaborations and melodic rythms. la lalala lalalala...

Fun, stupid 3 Star Review
2009-09-11 - The thing about Tha Carter 3 is that its more like a big party, with Wayne (unfortunately) hosting. So you get some killer beats, good hooks and great guest apperances. but you have to put up with Lil' Wayne, who is one of the silliest spazzes on a mic. Is it fun? Very. I can see why its a chart topper. But its more like a good mix CD than a coherent album spearheaded by the artist.

whack-garbage-trash-smack cat!!!! 1 Star Review
2009-08-28 - Only educated people know that this guy is a complete idiot. I heard he doesn't even write his music. Rather he does or not he is whack anyway. O-K, I don't wanna wast my time anymore commenting someone who is suffering from psychosis. This guy really makes rap look bad, the BET awards proved that in it's attempt to honor our passed brother Michael Jackson...the whole world was watching as this coon continued jumping around the stage with his pants half way down looking stupid rapping about absolutely nothing. His music is satanic and garbage!!!!!!

good 4 Star Review
2009-07-22 - I'm a person who has been waiting for tha carter III for almost a year beacuse of mixed up ralese days and a lot of leaking from big mike from his carter III recording sessions. I was diggin all of the mixtapes and a lot of tracks i was sure would be on the album (orginal prostitute, la la la,Shot to the heart, Mr Postman, Did it beofore are some. But the tracks on here are okay but not as good as i hoped
