Editorial Review:
MTV Ultimate Mash-Ups is one of the biggest musical events in years, premiering on MTV with a show featuring the multi-platinum Linkin Park, the biggest contemporary rock band in the world, joining forces with the multi-platinum Jay-Z, one of the biggest stars in hip-hop. Mash-Ups brings together artists from different genres to seamlessly blend their songs, creating an exciting and unique musical experience. Offered in both CD-sized Digipak and Amaray package, it features a CD with versions of existing Linkin Park and Jay-Z tracks mixed together in the studio; and a DVD featuring two versions of them performing these Mash-Up tracks for MTV.
Collision Course (Explicit Lyrics) Reviews:
just what i was looking for
2008-01-07 - i love finding things on amazon. this was even better than what i was originally looking for which was just the CD. great.
The worst of all
2005-12-27 - I live in Iran and I must say that at least LP had a great number of fans here but after the LPJZ mash ups they have changed to half.
We all hope that LP will return to its original music...
A new begining
2004-12-19 - They were asked to just do a couple songs to make the show happen, there was no need to record the vocals. They made 6 tracks, and re-did the vocals just to make everything perfect. A band of perfectionists mixed with a rapper who's been in the game for a long time makes a 5-star album.
Big time hits from Linkin Park and Jay-Z came together to give a musical high for any music fan.
Linkin Park's "Numb" mixed with Jay-Z's "Encore" is the first single from Collision Course. Already high on the charts and moving up.
The album debueted at #1 beating out U2's "How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb" selling over 300,000 CDs in a week.
A great album for anyone who likes, rap, rock, or anything close to Jay-Z or Linkin Park.
"THE BEST OF BOTH WORLD"!
2004-12-01 - Linkin Park + Jay Z, there's no doubt about their performance, the whole show is great, if you are fan of either LP or Jay-Z, go and get this, you'd like it, the bad thing is that the DVD only consist of 6 songs, 40mins of live music, kinda short!! they come with the CD version of the songs, so it's hard to say if that's really a "value-pack"..... it's not bad seeing linkin park rapping on top of Jay-Z tunes, and vice versa, i'd recommend "Dirt of ya shoulder/lying from you" and "Numb/Encore"(my favourite track), but "Jigga What/Faint" (to fast for Jay-Z to rap) and "Izzo/In the End" (change the key of "In The End" make the whole thing really wierd) is not really matched, not really "mash-up".
i really like the idea of the "Mash-up", and i think this DVD is worth owning for all music fan, seeing this kinda cross-over performance is a lot of fun, after all it's the music that matters, not the genre.
