Editorial Review:
Whoever said absence makes the heart grow fonder must ve been thinking about the relationship between Lita Ford and rock n roll. The hard rock queen stepped away from her remarkable musical career back in the 1990s to devote herself to family and the surroundings of real life on a surreal Caribbean island, but with the call of the sonic wild getting louder and louder, she made the decision to dive back in at the deep end only to find that she had every bit as much love for the heavy rock grind. And as it turns out, the feeling is mutual.

With Wicked Wonderland , her first full-length offering since 1995 s Black , Lita shows that her flair for sexy, stomping, searing sounds has only gotten more vivid which is mighty impressive, given a history that includes such classics as Kiss Me Deadly and the Ozzy Osbourne duet Close My Eyes Forever. This release, created in tandem with husband Jim Gillette whose own musical history is highlighted by his work with acclaimed metallurgists Nitro is a hard and heavy affirmation of the sensuality and smarts that ve carried her through three decades of action.
The 15 cuts certainly touch on the sort of headbang-inducing riffage that gave Lita her start way back when, but there are also surprises aplenty from the smoking slide guitar that punctuates the bluesy Scream to the psychedelic industrial swirl that envelops Everything. It s a potent blend, propelled by in-your-face drumming and Lita s effortlessly steamy vocals.
With pelvis-pounding rhythms and lascivious lyrics of tunes like the appropriately-titled Indulge and the so-nasty-it s-nice Crave , Lita shows off her trademark ability to purr seductively and deliver a well-placed knockout punch on no-holds-barred songs like Piece (Hell Yeah) . Wicked Wonderland showcases an artist who s clearly got plenty to say and no shortage of ways to say it.
The initial pressing of 25 000 contains two bonus tracks!

Wicked Wonderland Reviews:
Love the new sound! 5 Star Review
2009-12-17 - Lita Ford has managed to make a CD that is relevant today.
So many bands from that era come back trying to pretend it's still 1988.
It's very refreshing to witness an artist that has the balls to venture into new territories.
Lita does this and she does it well!
Wicked Wonderland is a very nice surprise.
Well done Ms. Lita.

Bravo! 5 Star Review
2009-12-16 - Lita has outdone herself!
The songs are tremendous as are the performances.
Sacred is my all time favorite love song.
Heavier than she used to be and that's just fine with me!

Worthy of 10 stars 5 Star Review
2009-12-15 - I've been a fan of Lita Ford since 1988 and have been anxiously awaiting her return to music.
I understand that family comes first so my hats off to this wonderful lady for having her priorities in life straight.
That said, I sure am glad she decided to treat us to some of her tasty guitar playing again!

Wicked Wonderland is such a giant step in the evolution of rock that I feel unworthy
of even trying to convey my feelings through this keyboard.

Lita has created 15 songs that can best be described by me as awesome, heartfelt, sexy, heavy, passionate, and hot.
The energy captured in this recording is fantastic. I read that she recorded at home and that she loved recording that way.
I can see why. She sounds so inspired in the songs and she sings with such emotion.

My personal faves are Crave, Love, Wicked Wonderland, Sacred, Inside, Betrayal, and Bed. With 15 songs one would think
that there'd be a lot of filler but there isn't any!
All the songs rock hard and although I have faves it doesn't meen that the others are lacking. Quite the contrary. I usually have 1 or 2 favorites on an album
and it was hard to narrow it down to the above 7.

The vocals are brilliant. Lita sounds amazing and so does Mr. Gillette.

The guitar playing is what I've been wondering about. Could she still play? Would she have lost her chops
after such a long break?
Well one listen and you'll know the answer! She slays the strings.
The end of Betrayal is bad to the bone! This is what so many guitar players hope for.
The emotional intensity she gets out of her strings is simply a thing of beauty. She can make
her guitar scream like a banshee or cry like a baby.
On the song Piece she plays slide guitar that Mr. Thorogood would approve of.
I had no idea she could play slide.
Maybe it's something she picked up on her time off.
On Sacred she has such a wonderful tone. This is a real tear jerker.
On Inside she plays a straight up face slappin' lead that anyone would be proud of.
She uses a lot of different guitar tones on Wicked Wonderland and guitar junkies like me really appreciate that.
If you're a guitar player you'll understand. If not well just appreciate the music!

The production on this disc is great as well. The tracks are very heavy with a modern feel.
It all has a nice fat bottom which I love! You can never go wrong with a nice big fat bottom.

Last on the list is the insane art.
OMG this takes me back to the good old days. To me todays bands are missing out on a very special part of the mystique.
They have terrible packaging. Wicked Wonderland has a massive booklet with tons of pictures.
It's in a great fold out cardboard panel instead of the normal CD plastic packages.

Lita's been gone and missed. This is certainly a great way to reintroduce herself.
I sure hope she gets nominated for a Grammy again. With 2 nominations in the
past perhaps the third time will be the charm!
God bless you Lita and thanks for all the great music!

AWESOME! 5 Star Review
2009-12-15 - WICKED WONDERLAND IS THE BEST CD TO COME OUT IN A LONG TIME.
IT HAS QUICKLY BECOME MY FAVORITE.
THE SONGS ARE GREAT, THE PLAYING IS GREAT AND THE VOCALS ARE GREAT.
IT'S AWESOME TO HAVE LITA BACK AND EVEN BETTER TO HAVE HER BACK HEAVIER THAN EVER!

it's different from her 80's music and interesting 3 Star Review
2009-12-14 - alot of the reviews have been negative and a friend of mine said stay away from
buying it.but i purchased it anyway being a long time lita fan since her second album dancin on the edge back in 1984.lita her self stated she wanted to do a heavier rocking album and it show's.this album is not as bad as people say it is.
sure it is not a 100% lita ford solo album it's more of a co-album with her spouse
jim gillete.her last album lita live with the song nobody's child is the last gasp
of lita circa 1983-1991.So i do not forsee her returning to that type of album any
time soon.but the new direction is not as bad as alot of the reviewers have stated.
you have to give it a chance and an open mind.
