This precious gift offers brief life stories, passionate readings, and uplifting prayers for daily inspiration. Traditionally acknowledged saints stand alongside noble women of other religions, and heroines of the Old Testament.
Women Saints: 365 Daily Readings Reviews:
A Variety of Saints
2008-12-15 - Women Saints is a grand, marvelous work from Sophia Compton and her fellow authors. Specifically, the diversity of women saints she has found is "wow-ing." I recommend that anyone interested in women saints pick up this book and find the women who stand out for each person. And there is no doubt in my mind that each individual will find specific holy women who appeal to him/her. This book is as close to all-inclusive as its authors can make it. It shows a vast amount of scholarship and both a unique and an ecumenical approach to biographies of saints. One can also find short prayers and pertinent readings for each day which can be used as one might use a short office of hours.

New and Noteworthy
2007-07-22 - Spiritual Witnesses
Women Saints: 365 Daily Readings, by Madonna Sophia Compton and Maria Compton Hernandez provides reflections on holy women from the Orthodox, Anglican, Protestant, and Catholic traditions. Some of the women are familiar--Sarah and Hagar, Dorothy Day, Harriet Tubman--while others you will enjoy learning more about. Each day includes a brief description of the saint's life, a prayer, and excerpts from scripture. Crossroad.
