Hollywood Reviews:
Stuart Price again betters the original song. 4 Star Review
2009-11-15 - Jacques Lu Cont (a.k.a. Stuart Price) has again amazed me by making a great song an even better one. The main attraction of this single is definitely his Thin White Duke Mix. None of the other remixes bear any exceptional ground, and seem just to be fillers on this late US Maxi Single release. It comes with the Album version, clean of the fade out from 'American Life' - a bonus for many reasons. Both the Calderone & Quayle Glam Mix and The Micronauts Remix are runners up to Price, but don't draw the same level of material excellence.

One annoying factor on this package is that there is a horrible typographical error in the printing - Price's remix reads 'Thin White DUCK Remix' - certainly a contention of hilarity! If you are interested in more songs Price has made the better of, try the rest of his 'Thin White Duke' Remixes, especially Britney Spears' 'Breathe On Me'.

"I tried to leave it but I never could..." 5 Star Review
2009-07-31 - Hollywood by Madonna is one of my favorite tracks on her American Life album that was released in 2003. That album and this single were very much ignored. I love everything about this song - the hook, lyrics, and arrangement. Madonna really took a risk with this song, it is poppy but also has a dark undertone quality to it as well. This cd single contains a good batch of remixes, my favorite is the Thin White Duke remix. Under-rated dance song, get this today!

The first good set of remixes from "American Life" 5 Star Review
2007-10-10 - The second single from Madonna's worst-selling-album-ever yielded some pretty good mixes, specifically those from Jacques Lu Cont (aka Stuart Price, who later produced Madonna's "Confessions On A Dance Floor" album) and Paul Oakenfold. The video was also really cool, but due to a lawsuit alleging copyright infringement, the video wasn't seen much and will most likely never be seen in public release.

Interesting ! 4 Star Review
2006-09-29 - I never really liked this song much from the American life album, but being a loyal Madonna fan,I bought the cd single regardless.
I was very glad that I did, as there were 2 really great remixes on it that I really, really liked.
They are:
1.Jaques Lu Cont remix
2. Deepsky's home sweet home vocal remix.
If you were never really into this song, buy the cd single for the remixes I have mentioned, and it will have been money well spent.

madonna's greatest remixes 5 Star Review
2006-07-25 - first: i do love the album american life

second: hollywood is not the best pick for a second single, I'm so stupid would have been so much better, i can understand that she wanted to come out with something friendly after the unworthy flop of (the fantastic IMHO) american life single, still if someone doesn't like AL certainly won't like HW either

the HW video is one of her least managed video ever (next to recent sorry and get together), the radio edit is completely senseless, cutting off the push the button dont push the button gig which was the best part of the song

but these remixes... oh... i love them!

3 excellent club mixes, one done by oakenfold, this is the least interesting, i prefer his sorry and WIFLFAG remixes, it's still 100%, the C&C glam mix doesn't sound glammish for me, but it's much dirtier and more danceable than the oakenfold mix, cool, but the point definetly goes to deepsky, the way it handles the push the putton part is way beyond anything!

the remix done by mr Stuart Price (played on the RI-tour as a projection, and also on the memorable but unnecessary kissing of MTV VMA) is very retro, not Price's best work, still enjoyable with clever vocal sampling and reconstruction, the micronauts remix is the best mix here, very techno, very messy, sampling madonna's breathing but cutting off most of the vocals, which i like.

apart from the radio edit all songs are 5/5. great job.
