I'm Breathless Reviews:
Still love this, after all these years 5 Star Review
2009-11-17 - I first got this when I was 11, and STILL listen to it now (i'm 30). Just to be clear, the songs that this includes from Dick Tracy are (and they are the original songs featured in the movie):

Sooner or Later
More
What Can You Lose?

You may remember that there was a song called "Back in Business" in the movie, and this was sung by all the dancer/chorus girls but Madonna's version is a totally different song (and more suited for this album.) The song "Now i'm Following You" is heard in the background of the movie at one point, but not sung by Madonna. (Also, Warren Beatty sings with Madonna on this one.) All of the other songs are original songs inspired by the time era the movie takes place in. I like "He's a man," "Hanky Panky," and "Something to Remember." There are two songs "Going Bananas," and "Cry Baby," that are fun but may get tiresome if you play them to much. And of course, we all know "Vogue." Highly recommended and very underrated!

Madonna ... I'M BREATHLESS (1990) 5 Star Review
2009-09-30 - In 1990, Madonna had released her sixth album entitled, I'M BREATHLESS. This album, not a soundtrack to the film, "Dick Tracy", but contains music from and inspired the film, is simply great. It most certainly does not disappoint.

HE'S A MAN
A great way to start off this "Dick Tracy" inspired album. If you listen closely to the very start of the song, you'll a clip from the film, "Dick Tracy"

SOONER OR LATER
This song was performed by Madonna twice in the film. She performs an unplugged version (not this version) in the beginning before "Big Boy Caprice" (played by Al Pacino in his most annoying role yet) captures Lips Manlus. The second time she performs this song (this version) is when "Big Boy Caprice" has his grand opening at Lips Manlus' club, after taking over the club. Great jazzy song. Even my father likes this one.

HANKY PANKY
The album's second & final single. Without a music video to support it, this song hit the #10 spot (Billboard Hot 100). I had the pleasure of seeing Madonna perform this classic on RE-INVENTION TOUR in 2004, and she did an awesome job of it.

I'M GOING BANANAS
Love this tune.

CRY BABY
Not bad.

SOMETHING TO REMEMBER
A beautifully performed ballad. Expect to see this tune to pop as the title track to Madonna's 1995 greatest ballads album entitled, SOMETHING TO REMEMBER.

BACK IN BUSINESS
Not bad.

MORE
An acoustic/rehearsal version of this song was performed in the film by Madonna as "Breathless Mahoney". After "Big Boy Caprice" takes over Lips Manlus' club, as well as taking Breathless (who was Lips' flame) as his girl, he has Breathless and her back-up dancers / singers rehearse this for opening night. BIG BOY CAPRICE (To Breathless about 88 Keys): "The next time I crush fingers and turn them into pretzels, I just might do the same thing to your face".

WHAT CAN YOU LOSE (Performed by Madonna & Mandy Patinkin)
This duet between Madonna and Mandy Patinkin was also featured in the film, "Dick Tracy". Mandy Patinkin, himself, even had a supporting role in the film, as the pianist, "88 Keys". This song is rather good, but I wish Mandy would stick with what he's good at: Acting.

NOW I'M FOLLOWING YOU (Pt. 1) (Performed by Madonna & Warren Beatty)
Only over a minute long, but this song is really catchy.

NOW I'M FOLLOWING YOU (Pt. 2) (Performed by Madonna & Warren Beatty)
A great remix of "Now I'm Following You" (Part 1).

VOGUE
The album's first single. My favorite song off of this album. This song definitely defines Madonna of the 1990s and definitely defines Pop Music of the '90s. Great dance song here.

This is another one of Madonna's greatest albums. Mainly, every Madonna fan had bought this album only for "Vogue". I know I did, but after hearing the whole album, it became one of my favorites. Great album here.

Just like new 5 Star Review

MADONNA & THE VINTAGE 40'S 5 Star Review
2009-07-05 - Just a different from the norm yet truly enjoyable compilation of electic, vintage-type tunes like ONLY The Material Girl can do justice. Had let this true gem of a CD almost slip through my Madonna Registry-of-sorts but, thankfully, though, I didn't and can now say that I own ALL Things 'MUSICAL' Madonna.

She is the ONE artist that can truly brighten my day just by the sound of her voice. Some artists grab you the first time you hear them which is exactly what happened when I heard my First Madonna song. Since hearing 'Holiday' in the early 1980's while working in my Parent's Front yard as a kid, I have been totally & unequivocably, 100% completely hooked.
