Music Reviews:
So Much Music
2001-04-06 - I'm from Australia and I have bought both Australian release of the "Music" singles and I have to say this one is much better. Okay so CD 1 has the video and remixes by Deep Dish and Groove Armanda but this CD, CD 2 is so much better. For a start, you get a different cover in comparison to every other "Music" CD singles and secondly, HQ2 and Victor Calderone does brilliant remixes and Tracy Young plays her part aswell in making this CD rock. I personally like edits of remixes better than the full remixes simply because I think it takes the long remixes too long to start and I just can't go past the HQ2 remix of "Music", the drum beat is so brilliant that it's addictive. But never the less, no remix is better than the original version of "Music" which counts most. Buy any version you like but I personally recommend CD 2 because of the HQ2 remix. Buy it and see why, you'll understand what I mean.
Hello! Whats this about club EDITS? Buy the US version.
2001-03-05 - This is a ok version of the single, but you should get the USA maxi-single instead. First, it cost much less, second has 9 not 7 tracks with all full remixes. Heres the better us version tracklisting.
1.) HQ2 Club Mix (8:50)[BIG HIT IN CLUBS] 2.) Victor Calerdrone Full Anthem Mix (11:55) [ALMOST 12 MINUTES!!!] 3.) *Deep Dish Dot Com Remix (11:21) * Only on the USA version, not on this one! 4.) *Groove Armada Club Mix (9:29) * Only on the USA version, not on this one! 5.) The Young Collective Club Mix (13:16) [WOW! THATS LONG!] 6.) HQ2 Alternate Version (4:08) 7.) Victor Calerdrone Short Version (4:31) 8.) *Not So Deep Dish Dot Com Mix (4:19) *Only on the USA version, not on this one! 9.) *Groove Armada 12" Vocal (5:36) *Only on the USa version, not on this one!
Don't get me wrong, I'm not telling you not to buy this, I'm just saying from a Madonna fan, save some money and get more mixes. Only this is THERE IS NO ALBUM VERSION :-(
If you luv to dance...buy this or the USA maxi-single
Hey Mr. DJ, put a record on...
2000-09-09 - OK, Track listing:
1) Album Version - 3:44 - you've heard it before, and you'll be sure to hear it again. This song rocks! Madonna's funkiest release to date!
2) Calerone Radio Edit - 4:25 - a very good radio edit of track number five. see review of full length mix...
3) HQ2 7" Mix - 3:59 - a fierce radio edit of the full length. see review below...
4) The Young Collective Radio Mix - 3:48 - yet another good radio edit of a great remix. Keep on readin', we're almost there...
5) Calderone Anthem Mix - 11:55 - Victor (who has remixed Madonna's "Ray Of Light", "Sky Fits Heaven" and "Beautiful Stranger") shows us why he is one of clubland's favorites. His remixes usually slap the crowd in the face with a fast and furious beat that challenges you to not to dance. This one is no different than any other Calderone remix! When Calderone's beats are paired with Madonna's vocals, you have got one killer track. They don't call this the Anthem mix for nothin!
6) HQ2 Club Mix - 8:50 - HQ2 is a duo containing both Hex Hector & Mac Quayle, who have reworked tracks for Whitney Houston, Tracie Spencer & Pulse to name a few. Now it's their chance to play with a Madonna track. I've been waiting for the day when Hex would work a Madonna song, and the wait has been worth it. Solid beats which work their way up towards Madonna's brilliant (but minimal) lyrics. All circuit boys will love this one.
7) The Young Collective Club Mix - 13:16 - Tracy Young takes a more trance-like route than HQ2 & Calderone, and it works very well! Some may say it's a little bit on the long side, but clocking in at just over thirteen minutes is beginning to become the norm for remixes. And what Madonna fan can't handle 13 minutes of Mads? I really wanted my favorite mix to be the HQ2 mix, but this one would have to be my favorite, for it has the biggest build and the best break, and is perfect for peak party times!
