The Story Of The Latin Americans Who Revolutionized America’s Pastime Narrated By Marc Anthony In this award-winning documentary, filmmaker Dan Klores (director of THE BOYS OF 2ND STREET PARK and RING OF FIRE: THE EMILE GRIFFITH STORY) explores the fierce struggles and rich history of Latino players in Major League Baseball. It is a remarkable story of racism, culture clash and personal triumphs, told through rare archival footage and more than 100 hours of provocative interviews with such legends as Luis Tiant, Orestes ‘Minnie’ Minoso, Orlando Cepeda, Vic Power, Tony Perez, Felipe Alou, Juan Marichal, Rod Carew, Fernando Valenzuela, Cookie Rojas, Keith Hernandez and more, plus current-day superstars like David Ortiz, Alex Rodriquez, Pedro Martinez, Carlos Beltran and Miquel Tejada. From its roots in Cuba and the Caribbean, through integration, shocking controversies and the extraordinary legacy of Roberto Clemente, experience the lives of men who battled to play the sport they loved, only to discover the courage to change the game forever.

    Viva Baseball Reviews:
Latino Baseball Power. 3 Star Review
2008-06-23 - I actually loved the DVD, it had alot of information on the battles for equality for Latino baseball players. Unfortunately the quality of the audio left alot to be desired. On the "extra" footage you can't even make out the questions the interviewer is asking. You can hear the reply clearly, but you dont know what he's answering, so that sucked. But it does give a sense of pride. I give it a grudging thumbs up lol.

LOS VERDADEROS HEROES DEL BASEBALL LATINO 5 Star Review
2008-01-19 - MAGNIFICA PRODUCCION DEL BASEBALL. NUESTRAS ESTRELLAS DEL BASEBALL EXISTEN GRACIAS A ESTOS HEROES QUE PASARON INJUSTICIAS Y PREJUICIOS EN SU EPOCA HASTA MOSTRAR AL MUNDO QUE SOMOS IGUALES.

For Fathers and Sons 3 Star Review
2007-10-21 - I bought this DVD to share with middle school boys who are learning Spanish. After all, to better understand a language, we must better understand those who speak the language, and what better way than through something that interests my students,EL BEISBOL! I was very surprised that with perhaps 25% of today's MLB being "hispanohablante" that the movie shared so few interviews with current players. That would have made this movie an awesome addition to my classroom! Instead, however, the players are those of yesteryear, who bring bits and pieces of history and nostalgia to the screen, mostly through a format of interview. It might be time for Ken Burns to get involved and create a sequel to this one, in which current players can reflect on both their individual and collective experiences in dealing with the MLB. (I've decided to loan this one to a parents' association fathers/sons night, where Dads will delight in sharing the film with their sons.)

    Great Movie!!! 5 Star Review
2007-06-05 - The movie is an excellent view of how Major League Baseball grew and evolved due to the Latin Americans in the game. It presents rare footage of the Hispanic Legends of Baseball and would be a thrill to any true fan of the game.

The best history of baseball 5 Star Review
2007-06-03 - This is different than Ken Burns'history. As the Spanish-speaking population in the U.S. and the world grows, this needs to be a classic.
