Editorial Review:
A remake of Phil Collins' huge 1984 ballad, 'Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now)' will NOT be released as a CD single in the U.S. It is however, the third single from this phenomenal diva's triple platinum 1999 album 'Rainbow', which peaked at #2 in

Against All Odds Reviews:
All of the songs here are pure pop perfection laced with tiny ribbons of flowing gold. 5(+) stars. 5 Star Review
2007-11-23 - Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now) is one of her best remakes. To be honest, I think it's only second to Without You on Music Box (1993).

Crybaby is an R&B classic in my eyes. Snoop and Mariah when in the studio do absolutely *no* wrong.

Lastly, Can't Take That Away (Mariah's Theme***) is one of Mariah's most heart-warming uplifting affairs. Very rare to see songs like this these days (2007 and beyond).

Nice 80's Cover Song 5 Star Review
2005-10-12 - Mariah does have her own way of recreating a good ol' song. Phil Collins wrote a great song back in 1984 and Mariah revived it in 99'. This cd is a must have for any Mariah fan.

Against Those Odds 2 Star Review
2005-06-11 - Every once in a while, when a artist comes out with a great song, they can truly go so many places. But, when they choose to perform a cover of a song, it can once in awhile back on the singer. For somebody like Mariah Carey, her songlist is quite remarkable, but she could use some improvement on some covers here & there. This is one of them. Her remake of the Phil Collins classic Against All Odds, sounds a little bit wimpy, and not really heartfelt. Even though it was good when Phil recorded it, it just doesn't seem to be a very well thought fit from Mariah. She still is a good singer, but this turns it out to be a lackluster song with the odds.

Feelin' the Love 5 Star Review
2004-04-06 - This is one of the best singles released off of "Rainbow" by far. It is a shame that it did not get much airplay on this side of the pond. A great buy for Mariah fans.

She definately beat the odds with this number... 4 Star Review
2001-06-16 - Mariah Carey, as we all know, usually writes her own material. Every now and then, of course, a really special, meaningful song, like Against All Odds, just can't be passed up. Mariah has stated that her album Rainbow is about all the different emotions she endured over the past couple of years before settling down to record this project. This song, in particular, sounds like it has something to do with the break up of her marriage to Sony Music CEO Tommy Mottola. I may be wrong, but the words and emotion Mariah sings with would definately lead one to think that this is what this song is about. The additional tracks, Cry baby (kind of annoying; too much vocal acrobatics), Thank God I found You -remix (same tempo as the orignal, accept that some different drums beats and chimes have been added), and Can't take that away -remix (very fast paced dance number; quite refreshing from the original version). For the most part, any Mariah fan would enjoy this import.
