Always Be My Baby Reviews:
Search Hard To Find The Right Single With Unreleased Track 5 Star Review
2006-05-26 - This cd single is very worth buying. The remix tracks certainly give a customer/fan the incentive to purchase it. If you get the chance be sure to get the Always Be My Baby single that has the unreleased track "SLIPPING AWAY". It is a rare treasure. The track is also found on the aussie import cd single for the song "Open Arms" which also contains a version of Open Arms sung in Spanish.

You'll Always Be My Favorite Singer Mariah!!!! 5 Star Review
2005-07-08 - Always Be My Baby became the 3rd #1 single from Daydream and it's one of my favorites from the album. Every time I hear this song, I have to sing along and I love all the remixes of the song too which include Da Brat, Xscape, and Lil'Vicious. I also love the Always Club Mix and a shorter version of the club mix called the Def Classic Radio Mix, the David Morales mixes, and trust me when I say get the CD single with the David Morales club mixes! I know the David Morales mixes a lot of times, sound the same but not Always Be My Baby. I love the club mixes so much that I paid $100 to someone in England because the single was never released in the U.S. and it was so worth it. It's the U.K. CD single of Always Be My Baby with the David Morales mixes. Always Be My Baby isn't my all time favorite Mariah song but I must say, when it comes to club mixes, Always Be My Baby is the best club mix I've ever heard and it took me about 8 years to get the single and I am totally happy now!! Trust me, get the U.K. CD single with the club mixes if you can, you won't regret it!

This CD single tracklisting is as follows:

1. Mr. Dupri No Rap Radio Mix Featuring Xscape (3:42)-The R&B remix that doesn't have Da Brat rapping in the middle. I love it!!

2. Mr. Dupri Mix Featuring Da Brat And Xscape (4:40)-The R&B remix that has Da Brat rapping in the middle and it's cool because Da Brat mentions all these previous Mariah songs in it. I love it even more!!!

3. Mr. Dupri Extended Mix Featuring Da Brat and Xscape (5:30)-The R&B remix that is the longest and it's cool how Da Brat's rap is in the beginning of the song and that part in the middle, you'll just hear music and it does last longer. I love it the most!!!!

4. Reggae Soul Mix Featuring Lil' Vicious (4:53)-A really cool and unique remix that has that Reggae sound and Lil' Vicious actually sings backing vocals, it's awesome!!

5. Album Version (4:18)-The Daydream album version of the song which is my all time favorite version of Always Be My Baby along with the Always Club Mix!!

I actually own 4 different CD singles for Always Be My Baby. The first two I already mentioned. This CD single I am reviewing and the Club Mixes from David Morales. The 3rd CD single has 3 tracks: Album Version, Mr. Dupri Mix Featuring Da Brat and Xscape, and a B-Side called Slipping Away (4:30). Slipping Away is a really cool up-tempo R&B song and I recommend anyone who does not have it, to get it also.

The 4th CD single I own is almost exactly like this CD single I am reviewing except it doesn't have the Mr. Dupri Mix Featuring Da Brat and Xscape and it does have a track called Reggae Soul Dub Mix (4:52). The Reggae Soul Dub Mix has the same music that the Reggae Soul Mix Featuring Lil' Vicious has except that the ending has been extended from where the ending fades out on the regular Reggae Mix. This CD single with the Reggae Soul Dub Mix is another U.K. CD single and I highly recommend it too.

One of Mariah's Top Singles 5 Star Review
2004-03-19 - I just want to say that the group Xscape can be heard clearly on the remix track they did. The people who reviewed and said they didn't notice must not be familiar with the group's sound. And the recording day was the subject of the remix video. So, you saw the girls and Mariah singing together. Maybe they mixed it have Mariah's vocals prominent.

Mariah's Best Single 5 Star Review
2002-03-22 - What a smash this single was back in 1996! Mariah was even awarded with a special Billboard Airplay Award as it was the most played song on the radio in its year of release. It's not hard to see why, this is such a fun song and the remixes are terrific too. A must-buy!

One of Mariah's best 5 Star Review
2001-11-26 - By far this is one of Mariah's best song. Great lyrics and music. Also the remixes are great. You should definitly get this single if you love Mariah, the song or just plan MUSIC!!! My only con with this is that they don't included the international club versions by Dave Morales. You might be able to find the import with it but it's now out of print. Also, for some reason they took out the bonus song "Slipping Away" which is on the tape and 7" CD single; sadly they don't put it on the Maxi-single :-(

*** Tracklisting

1) Mr. Dupri No Rap Radio Mix w/ Xscape [3:42]- This is the shortened version of track 2 & 3. Theres no rap and the drums beats don't start until half way through the song, so for about a 1 1/2 mins. it kinda a cappella with a keyboard. (4 stars)

2) Mr. Dupri Mix w/ Da Brat and Xsacpe [4:40]- This remix is all to the beat from the song "Tell Me If You Still Care" were track one is only played half the song. The rap get 2 stars and why do they say Xscape sings? I can't hear them singing. (4 stars)

3) Mr. Dupri Extended Mix w/ Da Brat and Xscape [5:30]- How is this mix extended? Well, it starts off by the "shoo be doo" pharse unlike track 2. Then after an endless couple of minutes of dubing and instrumental you hear Da Brat do her rap. This is different becasue on track 2 she raps in the middle, here she raps in the start. Also the ending is dragged out longer and the end is ended differently then track 2. (3 stars)

4) Raggae Soul Mix w/ Lil' Vicious [4:53]- Cool mix, I love it. This mix has a unique beat, yet very good. The rap though is dumb, they should've left it out. It is 10 seconds long and she rapping about things like "one cooked meals" Is she crazy, I guess ragge is. Overall favorite mix. (5 stars)

5) Album Version [4:18] - The one every person who was alive in 1996 heard. The best version and of course, saved the best for last. (5 stars)

This is a good single and any one who like Mariah Carey should get it now before it's too late.
