Editorial Review:
Three disc (two CD + NTSC/Region 0 DVD) collection from Marilyn Manson and The Spooky Kids. These rare, legendary recordings, were originally made in 1991 and 1992. This early version of Manson's band recorded Disc One under the supervision of Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails, and they would become the first signings to his own record label. The concert on Disc Two was recorded in Florida in 1991 and features the earliest version of 'My Monkey', a track Manson still includes in his set list to this day. The DVD features the legendary Florida, 1991 gig as well as an exclusive interview and rare, unseen documentary footage. Entertain Me. 2008.

Lunch Box Reviews:
CHEESY HOMEMADE DISCS 1 Star Review
2009-06-05 - DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! What junk! I don't know how these people get away with selling these homemade bootlegs but this should be against the law. This set doesn't even have a record company or production label. The packaging is some cheap CD jewel case that doesnt even hold the discs in place, and the CDs are labeled with the kind of label you buy to print at home...the quality is worse, it sounds like someone recorded it from the audience. You hear glasses clinking and people talking. There is a bonus DVD that shows video taken by a cell phone (or taken from You Tube)and is such poor quality sound and video that even the worst YouTube video beats it by a mile. Whats really funny is that it is video and audio of MM during the "lunchbox" era and the few short interviews on the DVD are from the Golden Age of Grotesque era. There is nothing on these discs that is "rare" or "unseen" and I have seen all of this on YouTube...a total waste of money!!!!!

Excellent 5 Star Review
2004-10-01 - This is the spooky kids basically Marilyn Manson befor Brian Warner became an ego maniac. The sound quality is pretty good for a bunch of demos. There sound is so raw and unpolished this is back when it was about the music not about causing contraversy.

i love manson, but............ 3 Star Review
2004-09-27 - there is a reason why manson isnt to happy this was released besides the use of his pics and art work. this album is good for nostalgia, to me, only. i will say this i didnt really like his 1st album thta much any ways and this is like a collection of really bad b-sides from that era. i would recommend buying just to own all of manson and the chocklit cow is cool--ask forgiviness and ill show you how--im not down playing because its not manson's staple sound i just think most of the songs are uninspirational from any bad. i take on all fireing squad bullets its just all bout opinion

'May cause Drowziness and Upset Stomach' 3 Star Review
2004-09-11 - Well this is the strangest CD i think i have ever heard. And I'm a very strange person so that's perhaps saying a lot. Many people who don't well know Manson would hear the name 'Spooky Kids' and not know what the hell that means. But i think more dedicated fans hear the name and thier ears ring they know just what I'm talking about. My biggest problem with buying this CD would be the fact that I know that Manson sued over the relese of this CD and tried to stop it's production becuase he did not authorize it's release, and i feel bad know that by buying this CD were all going to make him mad. But oh well, he has enough money. And this is a rare oppurtinuty to see into the twisted birth of the anti-christ. For starters, you can tell this music is kinda old (hell the Spooky Kids were founded in 1989, the year i was born) so of course the style is a lot different. An obvious difference is Manson's voice, god you can barely tell its him, and its really low and the first time i listened to it i couldnt belive it was him. And songs like 'Negative Three' are reminscent of the 80's with light drums and a spare bassline which will most likely make us all happy he's changed. The sound is best described as acidy, grungy, industrial and just plain twisted, not to mention obviously unrefined reminding you of the good old days when this infamous man was just a regular person. I'd like to say that i enjoyed this music more, but i just can't, and i don't hold it agianst Manson or his crew, becuase this was back when they were new, and young, and they needed time to perfect thier work. Obviously a breathtaking painting doesn't yet have its beauty when its only a few blotches, you must wait for it to mature into the great thing it is destined to. So if you listened to "portriat of an American family' and thought that was unrefined, wow you have another thing coming. Although not altogher... ahem.. a 'good' CD musically, neither lyrically, this is a rare find and a strange look into the world of the Spooky Kids, as thier seductive, perverted, drug-addled, modern day willy-wonka ringleader, Brain Warner, takes you into thier world you wished you'd never see.

Great collection of old manson 5 Star Review
2004-07-30 - When i bought this album, i only bought it to complete my collection of Manson cds, but once i listened to it, i couldnt stop. This is the best collection of old manson songs i have ever heard. Unfortunetly, the DVD doesnt have very much good footage, it looks like bootleg footage filmed in a club. The lighting sucks and the film itself is very shakey, but the musics good.

1.Red (In My) Head-8/10 Good opener, very catchy

2.Dune Buggy- 6/10 Another catchy tune but it gets annoying after a few times lisnin to it

3.Insect Pins- 7/10 slower song, kinda creepy, but kinda upbeat at the same time

4.Learning to Swim- 10/10 this is one of my two favorites on the album, starts out slow and get fast, great song, but weird lyrics "I wanna be the fish"?

5.Negative 3- 10/10 the best song on the album, has a mezmorizing tune, awesome song

6.Meat for a Queen- 7/10 Faster song, pretty cool, i like the video for it

7.White Knuckles- 8/10 This one sounds alot like Red in my head, but its still ok

8.Scardey Cat- 9/10 Grwat song, it sounds like "Doll-Dagga Buzz Buzz Ziggety Zag" without guitars

9.Thingmaker- 7/10 Upbeat, great song, beginning is a little creepy

10.Thrift- 6/10 this one is ok i guess

If you only like manson for his heavier stuff, dont buy this album, this is only for harcore manson fans.
