Description of Weeds - Season Two:
The first season of Weeds ended with a shocker: Nancy (Mary-Louise Parker) found a dreamy new boyfriend, but he turned out to be a DEA agent (Martin Donovan). Luckily, she manages to find some pretty creative ways to "deal" with it. Despite that new obstacle, she decides it’s also time to "grow" the business to higher levels, and all these risky moves lead up to another fabulous season finale cliff-hanger. Elsewhere in suburban utopia, comic relieving brother-in-law Andy (Justin Kirk) tries to dodge his army commitments by joining Rabbi school, while the hilarious Doug (Kevin Nealon) battles it out with Celia (Elizabeth Perkins) to maintain power over the Agrestic City Council. Plot aside, Season 2 of Weeds took this potentially great show to the next level. No matter how hard they tried in the first season, the show’s makers had a heck of a time trying to shake the impression that they were mimicking the edginess of HBO’s original programming. (Some might have gone as far as to say they were trying a little too hard.) This time around, the characters and the story have grown into their own skins, and they offer something much more authentic and convincing. The second season also starts a great new tradition: Malvina Reynolds ‘s "Little Boxes" is still the opening theme song, but it is performed by a different artist for each episode (from Elvis Costello to The Shins). 2009-11-03 - the show is very addictive and makes ya keep coming back for more. Comedy/Drama mix

The best of Average television.
2009-09-15 - Not many of my friends have watched Weeds. Entourage, Seinfeld, 24, Lost, Prison Break, Extras seem like more familiar options but many people haven't even seen enough of those. One thing that I noticed about Weeds is that it has the most adorable soundtrack. You never know what they're going to come up with so I have a nice time using the newest app for my blackberry, Shazam.

Nancy Botwin (?) from weeds is a character with many flaws. She is not the best actress and she is easy to like sometimes but she is easier to dislike and find downright stupid. Conrad is a good character and the children plus brother in law are funny but sometimes you will find that too much time is spent on these characters making you feel that the show doesn't know whether to be young or old or mixed or how to be. This could be one reason the show is average if anyone's being honest.

Celia Hodes has a rather annoying character. And Doug Wilson is a bit like an annoying wasp. Conrad's family is wierd and I like the portrayal of a black family. Shane and Silas are both very good characters but sometimes they focus so much on Shane and it makes me feel so young and dank that I don't feel like watching it.

Is there too much of reference to sex in the show? Well, that begs to raise another question. Is there too much weed in weeds? I think so.

I'll tell you why I call this average television now. I call it average because the show never seems to be going any place and anyone with a good chronological state of mind will find it impossible to not call it shady and fake overall.

But then again, I still watch it and possibly will. Season two's end was 9/10. Maybe that's why.

2009-09-04 - The Weeds series is so great. Funny and quirky and always keeps me entertained. Love it.

I feel guilty admitting it, but it's hilarious!
2009-09-02 - I love this show. My husband and I started watching the first season while on vacation. We bought the first season of DVD's and watched them in two nights. Before we finished the first season, we got online at the hotel and ordered season two and three. They are all hilarious.
