Warchest (4CD/DVD) Reviews:
MegaDeath Warchest
2009-11-16 - If your looking for that compilation set that has the hits then this is the set for you. It does a nice job of rounding up Megadeath's hits over the years.
Short and sweet.
2009-05-25 - I understand record companies want our money, but do they have to be so blatant about it? Most people willing to shell out the cash already own half of this stuff. So, one star docked for typical corporate greed.
On the other hand, there's at least an hour and a half's worth of stuff here not found on any of Megadeth's other albums, whether they're demos, live songs, soundtrack songs, etc. And that's not including the fourth CD, which contains a kickass concert from Megadeth in their prime years. Ditto the live DVD. If you favor Megadeth pre-Youthanasia, as I do, the live CD and DVD make this box set totally worth it.
Disc # 1 Problems
2009-03-30 - The music is great, but I had a problem with disc 1. If I played the cd in my car cd player it worked perfectly fine, but if I played it on my pc the last 3 songs on the disc would stutter and skip. Has anyone else run into this problem? I also didn't care for the plastic outer sleeve packaging I had problems trying to get the cd's back into it.
A fantastic starting point for any aspiring metalhead.
2009-03-24 - If you're interestd in Megadeth or just started listening to them, this is the absolute best place to start. There's so much awesome music on this disc, it should keep just about anyone happy for a long time. There's some really cool covers and demos to be found on here that along with the live DVD and cool packaging, make this a worthy purchase to the fan who already owns their music. When I review an album I usually choose my favorite three songs, but it would be impossible to choose just three from such a massive collection. So, since really hard to narrow it down to such a small number, I'll tell you about some of my favorites, not just limited to a top three, tracks that everyone hsould listen to on here are "Peace Sells", "Into The Lungs Of Hell", "In My Darkest Hour", "Holy Wars... The Punishment Due [Demo]", "Tornado Of Souls [Demo]", "Hangar 18", "Sweating Bullets [Live]", "A Tout Le Monde", and "Black Friday". Most,if notall, of the stuff on here is great in one way or another, but those are the songs I feel everyone should listen to and absorb. Overall, it's about the best collection you could ask for from a band and at a great price, I highly recommend it.
Don't bother with the Mp3 version, you may as well get the full package with actual physical products, cool booklet and case, and the live DVD for the same price.
a must have
