Description of Braveheart (Sapphire Series) [Blu-ray]:
Mel Gibson's Oscar-winning 1995 Braveheart is an impassioned epic about William Wallace, the 13th-century Scottish leader of a popular revolt against England's tyrannical Edward I (Patrick McGoohan). Gibson cannily plays Wallace as a man trying to stay out of history's way until events force his hand, an attribute that instantly resonates with several of the actor's best-known roles, especially Mad Max. The subsequent camaraderie and courage Wallace shares in the field with fellow warriors is pure enough and inspiring enough to bring envy to a viewer, and even as things go wrong for Wallace in the second half, the film does not easily cave in to a somber tone. One of the most impressive elements is the originality with which Gibson films battle scenes, featuring hundreds of extras wielding medieval weapons. After Eisenstein's Alexander Nevsky, Orson Welles's Chimes at Midnight, and even Kenneth Branagh's Henry V, you might think there is little new that could be done in creating scenes of ancient combat; yet Gibson does it. --Tom Keogh
Braveheart (Sapphire Series) [Blu-ray] Reviews:
Braveheart
2009-12-31 - A vastly entertaining and powerful movie. Braveheart is a truely epic film, it stands out as one of the top overall movies ever in my mind. The story is top-notch, the direction and acting/cast are equally great as well.
It came fast and perfect
2009-12-30 - The disc came in a few days and it was in perfect condition as it was described. thanks.
Great buy.
2009-12-28 - Braveheart is my all time favorite movie and I have seen this movie over 40 times (no kidding) so I felt there was nothing about the movie itself that was going to entice me anymore. Inspite of that, I bought the Blu Ray disc to experience the hi-def version of the movie I love so dearly.. and boy, what an experience !! The highlands of Scottland, the war scenes, and just everything else in the movie just dazzled a million times over with the Blu Ray. I realized I was enjoying earlier whatever was possible with the standard def but I now get to see so much detail that the same movie becomes enticing all over again.
If you are a Braveheart fan, you've got to buy this one and experience the magic. And I am going to watch it 40 times all over again in Blue Ray - no kidding !!
Someday I might start a Braveheart Fan club. Meanwhile, enjoy this one !!

Good movie, bad service!
2009-12-15 - Braveheart is a GREAT movie!!!! But we specifically searched out a full-screen edition to order. And when it arrived it was WIDE-SCREEN!!! It was sent from one of Amazon's affiliates, and when we contacted them, they said they would send me a return label, and refund my money in the bank in 3 to 4 weeks. Told me they couldn't give me a full-screen, I would have to reorder all over if I wanted full-screen, and it was not availble at that time. And the paper it was sent in maybe cheaper for the shipper, but the cases get broken in the mail. Because Braveheart and I just recieved Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and both cases were broken. I would suggest if you don't have the movie in the format the person wants, don't offer it.
