Editorial Review:
Metallica's brand new song, the first single from what's sure to be one of the summer's biggest blockbuster films, 'M:I-2'. The sequel to 1996's smash hit 'Mission: Impossible'. Produced by none other than Bob Rock (Afghan Whigs, The Cult, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Motley Crue, Skid Row, etc.). this limited edition single features the album version of 'I Disappear'. No U.S. release is scheduled. 2000 release. Slimline jewel case.
I Disappear Reviews:
Best of Post-Black Album Pre-St Anger
2005-09-08 - Ok, we have 2 Loads, where Metallica start to sound like GNR and Hard-Rock acts, then we have S & M , which is quite good, but due to too many Load songs and the Pre-Black album songs being tuned down by one tone or a semi-tone and the guitars sounding very deep and low. This is the first song that fully utilizes those guitars, sounding like Met's Whiplash but slow-burning. But again, it sounds like Hard-Rock, not Thrash.
Weak
2005-02-21 - Whatever happened to the old Metallica? The thrashy Metallica who wrote insightful lyrics? This is definitely one of the worst songs they have ever recorded, although most of the songs on their newest atrocity St Anger are worse than this one. Nonetheless, I dont understand why Metallica would write and record this song as a single when they are obviously capable of SO much more.
its pretty good
2005-01-23 - i really dont want to write another long review telling the "metallica sold out" people off (see my st anger review), but while this single does not contain the speed riffs of Puppets, its got a good tune and beat. Lyricwise, it doesnt stand out, but its a good song, definately one of the best from the Load-St Anger era. yes, it seems a bit alternative, i wont argue there, but the main riff is pretty cool. not much to say that hasnt already been said, its a good song
Garbage
2005-01-20 - I don't know if this is the worst song Metallica ever wrote, but it's definetely the worst one that ever became a single. This stinks a mile away.
Amazing...Thats All there Is To It!
2003-10-25 - This song is one of Metallica's greatest ever. But I gave it 4 stars due to the lack of songs, but what the heck it is still worth the money and a great addition to any fan>
