Best presentation of Kill 'Em All yet
2009-02-27 - Most people familiar with Metallica, or familiar enough to venture into the back catalog, trekking further back than where most got their start on the Black Album, will have already heard the album. These people already know that, while most of what was to come has only gotten better, this is where it all started.

This release is a 2 LP set done at 45 RPM allowing for deeper grooves. They are half speed mastered (this means that the master vinyl, from which the albums are duplicated, is "played" back at 1/2 the normal speed to allow more time for the audio to be transmitted). This means that while you've heard the albums and may have even heard the vinyl from the 80's, you likely haven't heard it this sonically perfect. With a good record player and better than good speakers you will hear deeper and more rich sound than you did previously.

While this may not be Metallica's greatest album ever, it is where they got their start and if nothing else it serves as a great balance to more recent efforts. It's always good to see where a band that's been playing for over 25 years came from compared to where they are now. And they have come a long way (whether you like their musical decisions or not, you cannot argue that they've changed quite a lot).

Four stars because while the presentation is perfect, the music isn't the best from the band (my personal opinion, of course).

Metallica's worst in my opinion....they only got better after this...
2008-09-14 - I know some Metallica fans think this is their best work, and almost all of their later work was a blatant sellout. This is actually my least favorite Metallica album, and they have improved exponentially since this album's release (except for one misstep in St. Anger, which isn't that bad of an album). This album isn't bad, but it really doesn't sound like them in their prime. I really think they didn't become themselves until Ride the Lightning, a far better, much more cohesive, and intelligent album than this one. This album is best when you shut your mind off and just thrash to it. Honestly, that's not particularly good, and when you compare this album to the rest of Metallica's output, Kill 'em All looks pedestrian.

There are some good tracks here, most notably The Four Horsemen, an early epic from Metallica (how many thrash metal albums on them have a 7 minute song?). At times, Hit the Lights and Metal Militia are fun, but overall it's just noise to me. I hardly play this album whereas I play my other Metallica albums quite often (including St. Anger). For those who say this is Metallica's best should listen to their other albums again, as this one pales in comparison to the later ones. Metallica is one of the few bands to grow significantly with each album without losing their identity, and this was their first step. It was a very small step, but each successive step was greater and far more memorable.

2008-08-30 - Customers, be careful. I have already bought 3 first remastered LP's by my favourite band and all of them (new ones)got scratched! Master of puppets "jumps" on the 5th song, nevertheless the sound is noticably better.

2008-04-30 - He tenido la oportunidad de tener varias versiones de este disco tanto en CD, cassette y LP pero este es definitivamente el mejor LP que he tenido la oportunidad de adquirir.

Metallica esta haciendo un excelente trabajo al regresar en el formato de antaño sus primeros discos y que muchos fans de Metallica de hoy en día que no tuvieron la oportunidad de adquirirlo este es un excelente momento para comprar un producto de autentica colección.
