Memory Remains Reviews:
The Memories Remain 5 Star Review
2002-02-04 - I don't usually buy singles, since the other tracks are usually covers (that end up on Disc 2 of 'Garage Inc.'), demos, or live versions, while other stars have fresh originals that didn't fit in on the album. However, imports are fun to have. Also, I got this used at a low price. Mine is the UK import on Vertigo/PolyGram. I think this one here is as well, at least EU.

Kicks ass 4 Star Review
1999-10-31 - Great song, great voice and great drums. If you haven't buy RELOAD, buy this single NOWWWWW!!!!!!!!

Marianne Faithfull's dead??? 5 Star Review
1999-10-18 - The song's great, I love it. Awesome drums, terrific guitars, and my favorite singer, Marianne Faithfull, with my favorite band, Metallica. But I have one question: when did Marianne die? She's been on tour for most of this year, just released a new CD, was interviewed on VH1's 100 Greatest Women countdown, and was just on Behind the Music. How'd a dead woman pull that off? Ryan, man, better check your facts before you write another review.

Marianne Faithfull lives 5 Star Review
1999-10-16 - This song is terrific, Marianne sounds great, the band is at its best. I also saw the band on SNL with faithfull, and she looked pretty much alive to me. Anyone who needs further proof: she's on tour, she just played NYC's Central Park on July 21, she was just on VH1 Behind the Music, and she has a new record out. If that guy who claims she'd dead were even a real Metallica fan, he would have seen that show on SNL, and he would have seen the video for this song.

But back to the song. It's got quite a strong message, seeming to describe the way Hollywood loves to build up its beauties, and then, once the glitter fades, wreck them and their images. It's an industry that gets off on it, for some reason.

The guitars sound great, Lars is doing a great job drumming, and as for the added vocals of the VERY MUCH ALIVE Marianne Faithfull, well what can I say? She is "the already faded prima donna."

It's ok but album is better 5 Star Review
1999-10-10 - I feel i must inform peopel that regardless of what that other guy said.. marianne faithfull has been 6 feet underground for several, several years now from an overdose.. those were soundclip vocals so where this guy gets off saying he saw her perform on snl is absolute bull.. its still a really good cd but if you want the song go buy the cd reload it is very good
