Love Michelle Branch 
2009-08-17 - I am only going to say good things about Michelle Branch because I really like style of music. This is a second purchase of the same cd. I only buy the cd's again that I have to have because I love the songs that much. I would listen to the songs first before you plan to purchase the cd. I enjoy it and have never got tired of the music.
It's not that the album is bad; it's just rather uninteresting... 
2009-03-19 - I'll say this for Michelle Branch; lyrically and vocally she has it going on. Her music has this layer of sincerity that really reaches the listener, and her silky voice (with the perfect tinge of coarse roughness) compliments her lyrical styling well. The problem with her sophomore album is that she shows a lack of originality and imagination in the construction of her songs. No matter how intelligent or thoughtful the lyrics, and no matter how well she sings her songs, the fact remains that half this album is instantly forgettable.
Sure, she has some undeniably catchy tracks, and a few superior offerings here, but as a whole this feels like half an album.
After a ridiculously unnecessary into track, the album gets started with an album highlight; `Are You Happy Now?'. Along with `Breathe', this track defines what is so commercially lovable about Michelle Branch. She's spunky, edgy and she flows beautifully. I prefer this to `Breathe', her more successful single. Both are great songs and have yet to lose their draw. I just think that she shows more personality on this particular track.
As good as these two tracks are, neither represents the best she has to offer.
`Tuesday Morning' is delicate and sweet. It has a charm that engages the listener and endears them to this artist. I personally consider this one of the albums highlights. Her crisp vocals are stellar, especially in the chorus. `One of These Days' is honestly one of my favorite songs; ever. I love the vulnerability in Branch's voice here; and the acoustic version floating around the internet is even better. It has such a genuine vibe to it; a really touching and moving track. Her voice is piercing here; truly reaching. I like the spunky almost Jason Mraz feel to `Desperately'; a track that shows a different side to Branch. `Til' I Get Over You' is a beautiful example of the pipes this girl has. Sometimes in her music her vocals are passed over as serviceable simply because she doesn't push herself like a lot of singers out there, but here she shows not only the vulnerable crispness of her voice, but she raises her octaves and shows us her tremendous range.
Sadly, the rest of the album isn't really worth mentioning.
`Empty Handed', `Hotel Paper', `Where Are You Now?', `Find My Way Back'; they are just rather uninspiring and somewhat boring. They give us nothing truly memorable. The closing track `It's You' is one of the worst on the album, which is a shame because the song that comes right before it (Til' I Get Over You) is stellar and would have been a more inspired choice to close with. It's not that any of these are `bad' in the absolute sense; it's just that they are truly forgettable. `Love Me Like That' is actually a good song and probably shouldn't be listed in this group, but the fact that Sheryl Crow steals the entire track from Branch is a shame, since an artist should always stand out on her own album. I like the song, but it feels like a Crow vehicle more than anything else.
So, the album is decent, and at times it is superb; but overall there is really only half a true album here with a lot of filler. If you are a fan of her work and enjoy some of the tracks listed here then by all means, pick this up. Like I said, none of it is `bad', but not all of it is great.
Best New CD I Got For 2008 
2009-01-28 - This was one of the best new CD's I got in Dec of 2008. Very good music! I like the way Michelle sings and song's lyrics are very good in every song. I'd recommend this CD to anyone looking for some good new modern music.

2009-01-03 - The follow-up to "The Spirit Room" Michelle couldn't have served this at a better time. Lets get into the differences between "TSR" and "Hotel Paper", "TSR" has an innocence about it, It's more fragile than the follow-up. "Hotel Paper" is more modern with stronger music, they're both fantastic in their own ways. There "Are" a few songs that wouldn't be out-of-place on the "TSR" like "Where Are You Now" "Finding My Way Back" and the single b-side "Wanting Out". "Hotel Paper" also delivers something new and of is it's own, Michelle explores wider range that goes from a harder sound with songs like the lead single "Are You Happy Now?" & "Empty Handed", She pairs up with Sheryl Crow for country sound on "Love Me Like That", It sounds like something she wouldv'e recorded with "The Wreckers". Michelle even takes her chances at an Rnb sound on her song "Desperatley" which turned out alright. Songs like "One Of These Days" "Hotel Paper" "Til' I Get Over You" & "It's You" are winded down and cooler than The rest of "Hotel Paper" or anything else Michelle has recorded. I notice alot of people don't like this album, Some followers of Michelle are angry, But I love it. "Can't Please Everybody".
A Great Follow Up!
2007-08-13 - Most artists falter after a really successful debut CD, but not Michelle Branch. "Holtel Paper" maintains the same pristine musicianship displayed in "The Spirit Room" She is impressive and one to be reckon with. A lot of fans who play the guitar seems to really dig her, which is probably a a compliment in itself. "Are You Happy Now" the first track pretty much sets the tone and the more you listen to this CD, the more you are amazed. There's a duet with Sheryl Crow on track#7 which I find interesting because you can't hardly hear Sheryl because they mirror each other's vocals, and ofcourse there's "Breath" Let's all hope that Michelle will keep on making cool music.
