Description of Little Britain - The Complete Third Series:
British comedy is often known for its menagerie of absurdities. Little Britain - The Complete Third Series upholds this tradition with the comedy genius of Matt Lucas and David Walliams, as they take it to up another notch in the third seasom. Little Britain has cultivated a devotion to the characters, listen carefully and you may hear the person next to you quoting "Yeah, but no, but yeah but…". Lucas and Walliams reveal them to us bit by bit, so we remain perplexed enough to imagine where they came from and what will eventually happen to them. We are dropped into the middle of their lives, and are lucky enough to observe them sorting things out. The episodes on this two-disc set are filled with returning favorites we get to know even better (whether we want to or not), as well as introducing new "Britons". We witness the insensitive and abusive Marjorie Daws, leader of Fatfighters weight loss support group, encouraging the group members to snack on "dust" because it has no calories. A returning favorite is Daffyd, the rotund, spandex-wearing, self proclaimed "only gay in the village", though life, his family, and the "homophobic" village repeatedly show him otherwise. New characters not to be missed include a lovely woman unable to control her bodily functions, a questionable mail order bride, and a rival for the spa resident Bubbles. Of course the sassiest narrator on television returns, spouting articulately, "Who They? What do? And why?" His banter is just another reason why visiting with the people of Little Britain is hilariously unforgettable. --Rachel Moss
Little Britain - The Complete Third Series Reviews:
Little Britain Series 3
2009-04-29 - Out of Little Britain Series One, Two and Three this was the funniest. They`re a lot of fun. Shocking and hilarious.
Hilarious!! Little Britian makes me laugh big time!
2009-04-28 - Matt Lucas and David Walliams have written and performed the best comedy skits I've ever seen. The characters this duo have created are shameless, vulgar, and unforgettable in the funniest way possible and make me laugh out loud! I especially love the skits with Bubbles Devere and would love to see more (if that's possible) of her. The U.K. may not have deemed this comedic duo a national treasure but I truly treasure my collection of Little Britain!
Really funny!
2009-03-08 - My son asked for this DVD for Xmas and we watched it with him. It's hysterical! Lots of fun, but suppose not for everyone.
Let the silliness begin
2009-03-01 - IMO weaker than season 1 but still a keeper and worth watching. You will not be short of laughs. The bookstore sketch is particularly worthy in this collection while Vicky Pollard is still stuck in Yes, but, No, but mode... the sad thing about her sketches is that I'm beginning to understand them! ;-D Very clever all round and just the thing to unwind mentally. Plain, old, fun, non-moralizing, non-reality TV. Do mind your head doesn't explode.
It's better on the other side of the pond
2009-02-07 - Well, comedy is, anyway. Little Britain brings a new level of hilarity to sketch comedy. Lucas and Walliams have created a ridiculous cast of memorable characters. Characters like Andy Pipkin, Mr. Man, and Daffyd Thomas really defy explanation- you've got to see them. If your sense of humor is at all sick, twisted, weird, or otherwise somewhat off, I highly recommend Little Britain. The DVD includes all the episodes in the third series plus numerous extras, including commentary on all the episodes.
