Here's the incredible follow-up to the smash hit phenomenon SCREAM! Away at college, Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell -- SCREAM, WILD THINGS) thought she'd finally put the shocking murders that shattered her life behind her ... until a copycat killer begins acting out a real-life sequel! Now, as history eerily repeats itself, ambitious reporter Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox -- SCREAM, SCREAM 3), deputy Dewey (David Arquette -- SCREAM, SCREAM 3), and other SCREAM survivors find themselves trapped in a terrifyingly clever plotline where no one is safe -- or beyond suspicion! Director Wes Craven (SCREAM) and hit-making writer Kevin Williamson (SCREAM, I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER) team up once again and deliver the big screen's hippest, coolest, edgiest thrill-ride ever!

Description of Scream 2 (Dimension Collector's Series):
To repeat the phenomenal success of their collaboration on 1996's hit thriller Scream, horror maven Wes Craven and screenwriter Kevin Williamson did a fair amount of recycling (same movie, slightly different situations), but this sequel comes surprisingly close to matching its popular predecessor. Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Jamie Kennedy, and Liev Schreiber reprise their roles from Scream, and this time they're caught in a new cycle of murders near a college campus, just as the slasher movie Stab (based on the events from Scream) is about to make its local premiere. That's the setup for another frantic guessing game involving a number of possible suspects, and the mystery is fatally complicated by the reappearance of the eerily masked killer from the first film. Who's under the mask? Craven and Williamson set up a roller-coaster series of wild plot twists and deadly encounters, and the snappy dialogue once again caters to those in the know about fright flicks, sequels, and all the movie rules that do (and sometimes don't) apply to the escalating body count. Featuring several scenes that will have you biting your nails and gripping your seat, this movie's an exception to the rule--a sequel that beats the odds to satisfy its target audience. Everyone else--you've been warned! --Jeff Shannon

ANOTHER SCREAMING GOOD HORROR FILM 9 OUT OF 10 5 Star Review
2009-10-24 - I'm baffled by the mixed reception of this film. Despite what this site might make you believe, people are actually pretty divided about this sequel. Personally, I think it's almost as good as the first film. Not quite as good, but still a damn good film even after ten years. Again, this is what teens should be watching, not the numerous crappy slasher remakes like Prom Night (How in the hell are teens raving about such a God-awful film?). When it comes to horror sequels, this is one of the few exceptions that doesn't suck. Like the first film, this is definitely a great late-night horror film to watch.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT: The film oddly starts off at a theater where the debut of the film Stab (Based on the events of the first film) when a college couple goes to see it. Everyone seems to having a good time watching the film and many have dressed up like the killer in this first film. But then the couple is stabbed to death in theater. Then we are once again introduced to Sidney Prescott who seems to have moved on from the events of the first film. She has a new boyfriend, some old and new friends, and everything is going great for the most part, and even manage to shake off what happened at the theater and don't think much of it, until a sorority girl is murdered by the killer from the theater and then attempts to kill Sidney. From then on, Sidney, her friends, once again Gale Weathers, and the released Cotton Weary (Who Sidney in the first film believed he had killed her mother but he had not) are all pulled into a plot to kill Sidney once again and face even more danger. Like the first film, this will leave you guessing all the way through to the end. Once again, Kevin Williamson has crafted a superb plot like he did in the first film.
MUSIC: Once again Marco Beltrami does a great job with the music in this film. It's never boring and it does set the mood quite well.
ACTION: Like the first film, this one was pretty much almost never boring. Unfortunately, this one isn't quite as gory as the first film. That's not to say that this film isn't violent though. This film still has plenty of offer in terms of slasher violence and is still a slasher fan's delight.
ACTING: This time, none of the actors suck and they're all pretty good and perform their roles quite well. Once again, Neve Campbell delivers a fantastic performance, as well as returning actors David Arquette, Courtney Cox, and Jamie Kennedy. There's no slouches when it comes to the actors this time.
HUMOR: This film isn't quite as humorous as the first unfortunately. It still manages to make you laugh in certain parts, but it's missing the charm of the first film in terms of humor. This area is still good, but not as strong as the first film's.
OVERALL: If you love slashers, then you must buy this film along with the first and if you're a teenager you should be watching these films instead of garbage like Prom Night. A slasher's delight and great late-night horror film, Scream 2 is a definite must-have along with the first.
THE GOOD: Great acting, a good deal of slashing, great music, and a good sense of humor.
THE BAD: Gore and humor lack in this film compared to its predecessor.

    Great buy 5 Star Review
2009-08-31 - I searched our entire town for this Dvd, and ended up finding it on amazon. It was shipped very quickly and was in prefectly playable condition with no skips.

One good Scream, deserves another... 5 Star Review
2009-07-06 - The horrific events that swept Woodsburrow in Scream seem to be reviving as Hollywood has created a movie about the events called STAB, based off Gale Weathers exploitations in her book on the Woodsburrow Murders. And again, Sydney Prescott is the target.
Now in College, Sydney is trying to move foward in her life. School, boyfriend, and friends, but some of the scariest ghosts, come back to haunt a second time. Suddenly, the survivng Woodsburrow gang, and Sydney find themselves in the grasp of the ghost face killer, removing friends and family to single Sydney out. The rules of a scary movie sequel are tested and bent as the killer creates some of the scariest and most allaboriate scare scenes in the genres history. And that is just the begining. All screams come to a hault at the finale. You'll be holding your breath, and onto your chair.

Scream And Scream Again... 5 Star Review
2009-03-12 - Yep, the trinity of terror- Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette return for this funny / scary follow-up to the original (and of course, Jamie Kennedy). This time, Sidney (Campbell) is in college, minding her own business, when the insanity begins again! At the premiere of STAB (the hilarious hollywood version of the Woodsboro horror from Scream 1), Ghostface returns, picking off victims in a crowded theatre. Sidney receives a call from her old nemesis, and we're off and running! SCREAM 2 has even more of a comedic attitude than the first movie did. Sequels are torched and lampooned in the dialogue and in the STAB clips (Heather Graham doing a parody of Drew Barrymore's Scream opener. Tori Spelling as Sidney and Luke Wilson as Billy). Along for the ride this time are Laurie Metcalf as a local reporter, Liev Schreiber as Cotton Weary, and Sarah Michelle Gellar ("Buffy", The Grudge) as CiCi Cooper. Also, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Omar Epps get to do the thrill-packed, blood-drenched introductory segment! SCREAM 2 is a smart, satirical sequel w/ enough deadly surprises to keep you guessing...

Love this movie! Smart, sexy, scary, and funny! 5 Star Review
2008-12-21 - I was a huge fan of the original, "Scream." I already owned the vhs tape of both "Scream" and "Scream 2," but I wanted the dvd collector's series instead. I love the movies. I watch them on my Imac computer, and the widescreen does not look good. The picture shows up really small on my 20 inch screen; it is very annoying...just something to keep in mind.
