Description of All the Right Reasons:
Throughout their nine-year career, Nickelback have stayed true to their roots, releasing five CDs of straight-up, unapologetic rock & roll. So how have things changed for the Canadian boys since the massive success of Silver Side Up and The Long Road? Well, brothers Chad and Mike Kroeger still live in the Great White North, and they still write hook-laden rock songs. The only difference now is that they have the satisfaction, 10 million CDs later, of smugly knowing that even some of their biggest naysayers will guiltily admit to singing along with Nickelback's catchy hits. On All the Right Reasons, one track definitely ranks high up in hum-ability: the first single, "Photograph," reminisces about the bittersweetness of high school in a small town--once again reconfirming frontman Chad Kroeger's ability to write memorable hooks. Regarding the rest of the disc: standard rock topics like love, lust, jealousy, and breakups abound, with riff-y delivery that longtime fans will love. The guilty pleasure bunch will also find what they need within the grooves, on the ballad "If Everyone Cared," the riff-heavy "Fight for All the Wrong Reasons," and the Metallica-inspired "Savin' Me." The disc's most impressive and simultaneously surreal moment, however, exists on "Side of a Bullet," a passionate revenge tale written about the killer of Pantera guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, which features one of the late Abbott's guitar solos as donated by Pantera bandmate and brother, drummer Vinnie Paul. --Denise Sheppard

All the Right Reasons Reviews:
Ignore any bad reviews 5 Star Review
2009-12-11 - What a album!!! Ignore any bad reviews and believe what the majority of reviewers have said, this CD is truely a hard rock masterpiece and with every track a gem, you'll find yourself playing it over and over again.
"All the Right Reasons" is without a doubt one of Nickelback's best albums so far and worth a five star raiting for just "Rockstar" and "Photograph" alone. My other favorite songs here are "Next Contestant", "Side Of A Bullet", "If Everyone Cared" and "Far Away" but there isn't a track on here that I dislike, it's perfect!
Highly recommened!!

I love this CD it has all the songs I wanted on it! 5 Star Review
2009-12-08 - If you like this group you will love this CD it has all their hit songs on it and is very good, you won't regret this purchase.

Worst band out of canada...in fact worst band i have ever heard period... 1 Star Review
2009-11-06 - This album is terrible from beginning to end. The lyrics are extremely shallow and cheesy. The music is over produced and predictable. This album is full of pop hooks that are way over used and once again predictable. Chad Kroegers voice makes me want to hurl. All in all there is nothing good to attribute to this album. To sum it up it is boring, shallow, poppy, predictable, instrumentally weak, and it truly gives rock music a terrible name. Thanks a lot Nickelback. Thanks for ruining rock music. Terrible album.

Music is a matter of opinion... 4 Star Review
2009-10-07 - In October 2005, Nickelback released one of their strongest CDs to date, "All the Right Reasons".

Nickelback tends to take a lot of heat for writing a lot of material that sounds exactly the same as everything else they write. But when it comes down to music, it's all a matter of taste. If you like the first track, and you like everything that could sound like that track, then it's easy music. And unfortunately, most of the modern music scene is quite resplendent in their recycling of sound and taking the "easy" way out. Many people take others' tastes way too seriously. If you don't like it, don't listen to it. It's just that simple.

But anyway, that's enough of the semantics. Frontman Chad Kroeger rocks out with his band on almost every track on this CD. Sometimes they make good, clean fun with their radio-friendly ballads. And at other times, they make not-so-clean fun with their sexually charged rock and suggestive lyrics.

Below is a brief description of each track on the CD, along with a numerical rating.

Track 1: Follow You Home--(7)--a rocking opener about a man who will still follow the girl home, no matter what evil things she does to him. She's got that much of a hold on him.

Track 2: Fight For All the Wrong Reasons--(7)--a heavy, guitar-laden track about fighting for a relationship just because the sex was incredible. It doesn't matter if they shouldn't be together, the sex makes it all worth it.

Track 3: Photograph--(7)--a nostalgic song about the wave of memories that can come flooding back by looking through some old photographs. It's time to confront the people and things that now need to be a part of the past, to say goodbye and put those memories to rest.

Track 4: Animals--(8)--a raw and dirty, hard-driving rocker about two people who are so in lust with each other, they're acting like wild animals. She's sneaking out of the house, giving him road head, and they're driving at breakneck speed...until daddy catches them.

Track 5: Savin' Me--(8)--a rock ballad about someone who is so strung out, he just needs you to say the words if they're the words that can save him from his misery. Help by giving him hope because you're the only one who can.

Track 6: Far Away--(6)--another rock ballad about missing someone and having loved them all along. He wants to be back by her side because together, they can face anything, even hell, and she gives him the strength he needs to survive.

Track 7: Next Contestant--(7)--it's hard to date a hot waitress! Who's going to be the next contestant to get their ass kicked for grabbing his girlfriend's ass and coming on to her?

Track 8: Side of a Bullet--(6)--Uncle Sam taught this soldier to shoot, maybe a little too well. Now he's off on his own, self-justifiable killing spree. He has killed someone the focus of the song cared about, so now he is carving the soldier's name onto the side of a bullet.

Track 9: If Everyone Cared--(8)--an updated ballad for peace, where if everyone cared and tried, no one would cry or die. A song about being thankful you're alive and in love and if everyone could experience this kind of love, there wouldn't be the misery that exists in the world today.

Track 10: Someone That You're With--(7)--a song about wanting to be with someone who is already with someone else and has a line of men waiting for their turn to be next. She's alluring and you love her, but all you can hope for is to be that someone that she's with.

Track 11: Rockstar--(7)--a fun little ditty about the rockstar life we all covet. We all just want to be big rockstars with bathrooms we could play baseball in and our drug dealers on speed dial.

Overall album rating: 7.0
